Hi all, well my parcel from both cool vape and vapology turned up friday. Been trying to get it all set up today. Having a few problems tho. Im down to 6 cartomizers from the ten that I bought. The flavour just isnt there. Ive turned up the voltage, turned it down. Just tastes burnt. Ive followed different methods of prepping the cartos like leaving it to sit for 30 mins but the taste just isnt there :(. Ive read things like oil on the metal is causing it or it isnt satuated enough, and even just a bad carto :/. Ive soaked them completely. Atm Ive got two new ones soaking. Different liquid. Both 70/30. Going to leave them over night. They both have a rubber cap at the bottom that Ive popped on to cover the holes and with some trusty clothes pegs standing up right with liquid right to the top to soak in. Shall try them tomorrow.
?
Am I doing something wrong, I mean Ive followed videos on filling them, left them for half hour ect. Or is it boge? Ive gone thru alot of juice lol. Neither here or there for this learning curve if I get them going as they should. Just not getting the flavour. Even bought some more today from a shop just in case its the liquid.

What am I doing wrong?
Is it boge? If so what cartos would you reccomend?

Addition note very happy with the f16 tanks. Very well made and everything fits together wonderfully. I just cant get the cartos to vape as they should. Or at least tatse as the should. Any suggestions?

As always thank you all in advance. Its nice to have somewhere to turn to in problems like these :)

What liquids do you have?

I use boge LRs in carto tanks. No problem with flavour. I barely prime them either... (but that's a side comment).

HOLD ON. I've just re-read it all.

Are they new liquid from Vapology? They won't taste of anything for at least a few days, maybe a week.....

Steeping: E-liquid sold on this site is mixed-to-order. All e-liquid flavour improves after mixing during a steeping period. For most non-tobacco flavours on this site, this period is a few days and e-liquid may be ready soon after you recieve them. It is advisable to order several days ahead of intending to use them. For tobacco flavours you may find that e-liquids improve within 1-3 weeks, and it is advisable to order them a week or more ahead of intending to use them.

1 day for Menthols or "hard" citrus
1 week for standard flavours *at least*

Burnt taste is something else....

Thank you mate. Must have missed that. I'll pop them in a draw for a week or 2. Thank you :)

Ive bought some more from a local today and there brand says dekang. Still not getting a flavour and a bit of a burnt taste from that too. But when I tested it in the shop in a sample atomizer it tasted great :/

Did you prime your carts? This means putting liquid in a few drops at a time from the top until you see it start to ooze out the holes at the bottom. This could explain the burnt taste. Not enough juice getting in to soak the filler..

Soon as you are able...consider getting a needle topped bottle for you juice. One with a METAL needle. Makes it easier to get the juice down on the coil of the carto when filling. Be sure to insert the needle alongside the outer wall of the carto.between the metal and the filler material. You don't want to risk breaking the atomizer wire with the needle. Filling with the needle bottle makes a world of difference in getting the carto primed right. "Soaking" can be hit or miss. Also..turn the carto over, after the initial needle bottle filling (top should look a bit slushy) and drop a few drops one by one into the hole in the bottom . It will absorb in...don't worry. And it insures that the juice is definitely getting to the coil.

EDIT: Oh...and put the carto inside the tank before filling! Just in case you didn't know. :)

Yea soaked the hell out of them lol. One thing tho. I havent put a few drops in at a time. I got liquid in it till it was all saturated and even started coming out of the holes. But havent done a few drops, left it, couple more ect. I did leave them for half hour tho.

On fire tonight. /\ /\ - up there. :)

Actually, I prime my carto outside of the tank. 6 or 7 drops in the 510 end, then 10-12 in the drip tip end. Done right, it won't seep out of the holes.

Daz? What sort of holes do you have? pre-puched or self-punched?

Hi all. Im new to this site and recently joined this community to help aid in my vaporizing journey. I smoke about 15 a day and I've tried a few ecigs. Early last year I went down the sky cig route (ones that look like a cigarette) but the hit just wasnt there. Still tho as quick as I started I was back on the fags. Then I saw many people while walking thru town one day with the eliquid pens and tanks ect. The ce4's and ce5's and what not. Didnt know what they were at first but soon learned about them. Decided to give it ago and loved it. Simple starter kit, ego battery, charger, case, and some ce4's. Worked a treat and was smoke free for 2 weeks. My gf offered me a ... and its the first time I hated the smell, hated the taste. First time ever I gave it her back half smoked lol.

I started to have problems tho, leaking mostly. I bought some more ce4's from a local. It just seemed hit a miss after that. Some were made well then some not so and leaked. Tried from different places to rule out the vendor but seems they get them from the same place probably china but slap there name on it. After a few times at work, you know your at work, long day, take the ecig out. It leaks or somethings happens then thats that. Found myself taking a pack of fags with me just incase so at least Ive got something if it goes bad. And yep.... you guessed it. Back on the fags. Christmas came so got that out of the way and thats brought us to today.

I loved and still do love vaping. Those 2 weeks were fantastic and want to bring it back. If you get the right set up, strength and flavor its a match made in heaven and much better than the fags. I love it. I've spent the better part of last week searching, googling, and watching you tube vids and review. Grimmgreen being my favorite. And basically just swatting up on whats out there. I've already spent a small fortune on ecigs and replacements and spares and so on. But I am all pumped up to getting back on the wagon and getting a great set up and going for it with the right e-liquid.

Im far from an expert but these last 3 days of learning and searching have made me the more wiser towards them. Ive looked, watched, and read and come pay day this 15th I'm going to be putting in an order. I've gone off the wicks from past experience and like the cartomizers so want to give that a try. I just wanted to see what you guys think. Its difficult because I realize its all personal preference but.... I dunno, is this a good set up? Any problems I should look out for with it? Any advice really would be greatly appreciated. I just dont want to spend another small fortune and be riddled with problems again. Ive had a bad experience but its a new year. And I'm ready to get back on the wagon as it were.

This is what Ive settled on unless someone gives me a better alternative or heck even if a website I've chosen is one to stay away from.

Ok:-

Ive heard good things about boge. So from CoolVapes.co.uk Im going to get the £39 Kit. 2x Boge F16 Tanks, 5x Spare Cartomizers, Ego Twist 1100mah, Plinth, Charger, and case. Also Getting a nice Drip Tip for £2.99 and an extra ego twist for £18.99

And for flavour, again I know personal preference but this is mainly because im quite new to the whole ratio thing. Ive learned what I can about blockages and being too thin it can leak and so on. But reviews can only go so far, heck some are paid for so bit of a learning curve. Heard 70%pg 30%vg is a good mix for boge cartomizers. Apparently I'm going to get some good smoke from this and its still thick to lessen the risk of leaks yet still not thick enough to cause a blockage. Please correct me if Ive gotten this wrong. Found a site I liked the look of called Vapology.co.uk and going for a 60%40% mix. Bit of a contradiction from above but on there site thats coming up as recommend in brackets for this flavour :/ Not sure if it matters. Hopefully someone here can advice me on that one. But yea, Tobacco 18mg flavor 60/40 with an extra flavour of caramel at 20%. Hoping for a nice tabocco flavour with an after taste of a hint of caramel. Time will tell. Thank You and I do apologize Ive wrote an essay here lol.

Thank you all again in advance for your help and advice. Fingers crossed no problems with what Ive chosen and hopefully this time my experience will be better from these fantastic machines :)

Tomorrow will be my 6 month mark since I've had my last cigarette, only a few days after I started Vaping back this past July. I use a pretty simple set up, haven't really gotten into too much else yet but it works for me. Of course, like you said, a lot of it is a matter of personal preference. I change back and forth between an ego-c twist and an ego spinner battery and use the T3s tanks by Kangertech. 2 or 3 years ago I tried the cartomizers and just wasn't personally a big fan as I felt like I didnt get as good of a hit with them, and went back to cigarettes until this past July. Although, here and there I still get a bad tank with leaky issues I just find overall it provides a better hit and I love trying all different juices from different vendors. I am new to the website too, but welcome to ECF! Good luck on your journey and don't give up! You can do it this time, just remember..whatever setup you choose..just always have back ups upon backups. At a certain point, like I am now, even if I didn't have a backup I don't feel I could ever smoke a real cigarette again..the thought of it just grosses me out anymore.

If you haven't already...look for a tool like this. Makes filling your tank a breeze (just slide the tank part up and you can put your needle in there and fill 'er up. Then just slide the tank back down. Easy peasy). This style tank filler tip is a knock off of the original "Slap Yo Mama" tool sold by Big Daddy Vapors, which costs a lot more. But it works.

Should be OK. I'm using 50/50 today with Pre-punched Boge LR.

(On high VG, I use bigger holes...)

Thank you. Well the ones I left over night last night ive given them a try today. Had both going in both of the tanks. Seems to have done the trick. Must have just not left them long enough to soak in. Think thats what I'll do from now on. Set them up the night before ready for the morning. I'm going to pop anougher order in now. Just looking around. Going to stock up on some more cartomizers cos I wasted quite a few with my learning curve this weekend. Also maybe get some different flavours while im at it try some different ones. See whats out there. If I went for a higher vg ratio (id like more vapour) is there anything I need to be aware of. Anythign to combat the loss in flavour Ive heard about with vg? Also making the holes bigger, is that something I can just get the dremel on and slowely drill at?
