a co-worker of mine introduced me to vaping a few days ago and i was blown away. ive been smoking for almost 10 years im 25 and really want to be done with it. so i decided to pick up a e-cig also. i must say its pretty amazing but only for about 10-15 draws. i get good vapor for a few hits and then it gets pretty light im using about two cartridges a day. ive been looking at other e cigs online like green smoke and blu. my question for the pros is which way should i go? im looking for a product with a lot of vapor that last all day any advice would be welcome. thanks in advance.

Hey whodey :) Welcome to ECF and the world of vaping. In my opinion I would not go with either one of those you mentioned. You can search them on this forum and read up on them, a whole lot of people do not like them, they just don't work that well for the kind of money you pay. I would start with a 510 or KR808 and fill your carts yourself by buying your juice seperatly. There are so many great vendor out there. I know libertyflights.com has 20% off there kits with the coupon code "ecf" without the quotes. They are a great supplier and have great prices. They carry the Riva and eGo which are 510 models and the Riva kit is only 29 bucks, really good price. They are bigger batteries but the last a lot longer then regular batteries. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, I've just bought from them and know first hand. Goodprophets.com is another good vendor and has plenty of ecig stuff in his store, along with juice also. These are just a few, there are many. Just ask here if you find a vendor and you want to know if your making a good choice or not. Oh, also nhaler.com they are great too. All these vendors probably have coupon codes to help save you a lil so just be sure to ask around :) Congrats on vaping!!!

Welcome to ecf! Great place. A year ago I was right where you were. Wish I had found this place before I threw all kinds of money around looking for something that works. The advice you got was pretty solid. Those are good sites, and the gear mentioned is good for someone trying to get started. Good luck, and I hope it works out for ya.

I started with the 510 and I have used the KR808 as well. I moved on to big battery mods a while back. However, I think if the eGo or Riva were out when I started I would have gone that route. They have cartomizers now for the 510's/eGo/Riva that work great. You can refill a few times before they need to be tossed and that saves money. The biggest advantage to the eGo/Riva is the battery life. Instead of swapping out batteries many times a day you can get away with twice. That is a huge advantage. Plus I don't know too many people who insist on keeping a cig sized e-cig for long. They really don't feel like a cig no matter what you do, so you might as well get something that works better right off the bat.

If you are really sure this is something you want to do and the size of the e-cig is not an issue, then you might want to step right up to a big battery mod. Any mod with an 18650 battery will last all day without changing batteries. Plus the batteries are cheaper in the long run. If that is something you are interested in just ask. There are a ton of great ones around and this site is full of people who will be glad to help you out. In fact if you want you can PM me and I would be glad to answer any questions you have if I can.

Welcome to ECF and Happy Vaping.

Good luck on your journey...I would not recommend either of the products that you are looking at. If you need something that feels more like a cigarette than go with 510...if you don't want to have to be charging constantly (every 1 -2 hours depending on how heavy you vape) than I would go with the 510 riva from Liberty-Flights (its a bigger battery model, like a cigar and heavier so it is not going to feel like a cigarette in your hand). Then you'll have to figure out if attys and cartridges are your thing, if dripping is your thing, or cartomizers...and which cartomizers (the ceramic or filler type) are your thing...along with what mg in nic strength and flavor works best for you. Sounds like a lot...but it really isn't. Once you have your "Ah moment" you'll be good to go.

As far as brands...no one really cares. It is the fittings that your looking at. The most popular fittings are 510, 808, and 901 and such. Then you can get your parts and things you need with no problem with any of the suppliers listed here and more. Then it is battery size and go from there. (sorry about typos...I am in a total hurry tonight and think faster than I type!)

What kind of a pv do you have now?
i have a Randy's electric cig i bought from a smoke shop its a 3 piece. battery, atomizer and disposable cartridges the carts have a foil in them that get poked by the atomizer. this pv doesnt produce very much vapor compared to the 510 ive seen in the videos i find myself struggling to get a hit.

Also good advice. Just depends on what you're looking for. It really didn't take me long to move to a mod. About a month or so, and I had been looking at them well before that. It seems to me that with vaping, lots of people are always looking for a greater hit. Not all, but lots. Bigger batteries is where you'll find bigger, more full hits. Others prefer smaller cig sized ecigs. Especially when getting started. Having that cig shape did help me a little I guess.

The advice by brad and bella is very solid here. My 2 cents... if you do opt for a big battery mod, check out the Maxi RoughStack. It will fit the 18560 brad mentioned as well as 2x 16340's for 6v use. It is pretty affordable and very solidly constructed. There are many other similar tube mods out there that will do this as well. I started with green smoke (don't make that mistake, trust me), moved on to the eGo and then to the RoughStack. The eGo or riva are very good choices if you don't want a big mod.

Hey whodey,
Welcome to the forum.
I have to agree with what BradSmith has to say.
Can't go wrong with either the kr808 or the 510, but if you don't mind something a bit larger and provides all day battery life, go with the ego/riva.
Price them out at litecigusa, madvapes, Liberty-Flights, HouseofVapor, & Vapor4life.
Good luck & keep on vaping!

I was where you are only a few weeks ago. Didn't want to go so far as a big batt mod but knew the smaller units would irritate me with battery life. Went with the eGo and quite happy I did. I'm a rather moderate Vaper and doubt I'll change one of the batteries in a day. It comes with 650 mAh batteries and those would be enough but I use 1000mAh batteries for more life. They make the unit a lot longer tho. Very happy with the route I took.

The 510 thread which includes the Ego and Riva and the KR808 are the most popular batteries on this forum. The advantage of The KR808 for a beginner is that there is a large variety of pre-filled cartomizers and flavors for it. While the 510 thread have a lot more types and sizes in batteries. With a 510 it would be better to start by getting juice and fill your own attys or cartos. The numbers actually refer to the type of thread. Any atty or carto will fit any battery with that thread. I still use both but I don't buy pre-filled cartos any more.
