Hi ECFers! I'm proud to say I got my first actually nice authentic piece of vape gear a couple days ago! I'm now the proud owner of a Tugboat. It's not the Tobh sadly, but at least it's possible to get :p. The only problem is that I currently have it on the Celtic Cross Bagua clone, which is total crap. I'm looking for a good mech to get for it, and I was thinking about the 4nine. Super small and universal hybrid sounds awesome. But the Tugboat (and most other drippers I've been looking at) doesn't have an adjustable 510. I was wondering if any owners can tell me how likely it is for the Tugboat to actually make contact. Will the 4nine work with most RDAs, or do I need to start looking for one with an adjustable pin? Is there any way to extend the pin with solder or something? Also, I've had a lot of trouble with crappy Chinese locking mechanisms failing and firing in my pocket (RIP 2 MNKEs and countless cotton wicks :/), so I'm a little paranoid about the lack of locking mechanism. Even though the button is recessed, I'm worried something in my pocket or backpack will get under the switch and cause it to fire. If anyone could provide feedback on those two potential issues, that would be great.
Thanks,
chabos.

Congrats on getting the tugboat. I don't have a Tugboat, but I have a 4nine. I use it with Tobh v2 and Origen v2. The length of the 510 can make a difference. Tobh 510 is longer and gives me a short throw on the 4nine which is really nice, but I do not tend to pocket carry it because of that. The Origen on the other hand has a shorter 510 and longer throw and I have had no accidental fires carrying in my pocket all day long (I don't carry a lot of other stuff in my pocket, only a small bottle of juice). The other thing that will matter is the battery type you are using. I only use Sony VTC3/4 flat tops. You need to have a protruding 510 positive contact in order to use flat top batteries without shorting it out. Note the modders only officially recommend using button top batteries.

All in all its a great little mod. The size is so stealthy and it hits plenty hard with the hybrid topcap. It's also great to be able to set it down without thinking about a locking ring. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions about it.

I love my 4nine mod, actually just got the female brass version in the mail today. I only use flat top batteries that are 30 amps and ive never had a misfire or anything like that. Ive also had a patriot, russian, tobh v2, nimbus, brass monkey and atomic on it with no problems what so ever. So I think you will be fine with the tugboat.
