Looking for The One Mod I really need

I'm really not wanting to be the guy who has more than a couple mods just due to how easily i clutter up my desk and lose everything important to me. Because of this, I really need to find the one mod that can do everything: Check volts, watts, ohms, and show battery level.

I pretty much have $200 set aside for this and some carts/tanks/attys and have gotten lost too many times with the insane number of great mods being reviewed on youtube, so here I am hoping to finally put this problem to bed and find myself the mod and end my search.

Having just one mod isn't wise. If it gets lost, broken or whatever, you'd be left with nothing. Plan on two mods, you could even get three at that price. This is what I'd buy for that:

I suggest a Vamo

it's cheap, has all the bells and whistles you want. I suggest the Stainless Steel ones the most, v2 or v3 depending what style you like most, and pick up one with a nitecore charger if you need a charger (it's a good one), and pick a set with the mattery mix you want, or order batteries seperately.

The SS ones don't eventually degrade their finish.

If you want something cheap get a Vamo or SVD as above poster linked

If you want all those features and a little higher end go with an Evic.

Or just skip all the BS and get a mech, all those features are essentially useless if you have a multimeter =) (battery life only because after a few weeks youll know how long your batts will last)

For a weigh in on my feelings on each device and comparison of what i have

Vamo - Very heavy and sturdy, but also cheap/clunky/rattly. Loved it to death when it was my first mod. You get great battery life with it and its so cheap that if you broke/lost it wouldnt be a big deal to replace

Evic - Lightweight and also sturdy from my experience (tho less sturdy than the Vamo) Not rattly or cheap feeling by any means. Battery life is not as great as the Vamo i imagine due to advanced features. However it gives a smoother vape, and of course, so many features i cant imagine anyone using em all

Mech (Mine is a Sigelei #19) Super sturdy and medium weight. Does not feel rattly or cheap despite the extremely low price. No ability to adjust voltage but if you can turn a good coil or use low ohm (1.8ohm or sub) then youre good to go. No features at all so the battery life is the best, and its also the smallest of any big batt mod (there are smaller mechs, my comparison is to the other mods)

Just figured id throw it all out there. I think for you the Evic may be the obvious choice, here are a few shots of mine with an 18350 ego c upgrade tube and black cap with a Protank or Evod

This is the 3 devices i discussed, the mech has a Protank on it, and all 3 are in 18350 mode

Chrome Vamo(id get SS the chrome will scratch and look like crap if i took it out) with Carbon Fiber wrap, Evic with Ego C and black cap(it has O Rings on it to protect it), and Sigelei 19 with a Protank

the Vamo and just about anything as a backup is a pretty nice "starter kit". it won't set you back much and i can almost guarantee that in a month or 2 you'll be much more knowledgeable and will want something else, so save your $$$ for then

I own most of what people will recommend, Vamo, lavatube, Mech mods. The recommended 2 are as good as anything in the digital market, full featured and if taken care of should last a long long time.

Well, not exactly what you're looking for, but have you looked at the Reo's? They won't read voltage, resistance or battery life. But they will give you an awesome vape, same as dripping without the hassle. They will hold 3 or 6ml of juice, depending on the model you get. They will keep your juice fresh and clean until ready to vape, without heating it. They will fit in your pocket (or purse) and won't leak. They will survive falls and spills and probably even being driven over by a car. They will run an RBA perfectly without the need for VV or VW.

I've got a lot of mods VV, VW, mechanical, hybrids.....since getting the Reo's they've all been gathering dust. I've even started getting rid of some of them for more Reo's. now that they have bigger dripwells and RBAs work on them I think they are the best setups going. If I could only have one mod I'd have a hard time deciding between the Mini 2.1 and the Grand, but it would be one of those two for sure. Very important advice! I have 2 Vamos, 2 Evics, 2 kr808 Cigalikes, an Eroll kit with 3 batts, and 2 ego 650s =) I ALWAYS keep at least 2 on me at all times, unless its only an hour or two and i know if it breaks i can make it home without losing my ^%#$

It just seems we all get a great mod, and then we decide we want a little different setup. You will eventually probably get a bigger mod for when you just want to Vape hard and don't care what it looks like. And maybe a more streamline Vape for running around during the day...maybe a bottom feeder for certain times..maybe even a cig alike just to keep in your purse or glovebox for emergency. It's hard to have one mod that you want and love to use in all circumstances. And trust me, I have some great mods. Lol. Just saying...

Okay. so i'm looking over the eVic. I have seen the Vamo V3 in person a lot since a coworker uses it all the time, but I've never actually seen an eVic or any Mech mods, so I can't really speak to how much I would like them or if they would work for me. I'm really interested in making my own coils which is why i would like to have an ohm meter (probably a whole separate thing from a battery). This is starting to look a lot more like a months long situation than I first thought....

Provaris, of course, are real nice. The cheaper but real nice common mod is a vamo for the money. I do think its important to have at least one mod that reads ohms. Makes a huge difference to really know what ohms something is firing at.

i have a innokin MVP and a K100 mech. im falling in love with the mechs. just so simple. but for vv situations, the MVP has never let me down, plus i can charge my garbage phone off of it. also picked up a kamry K200, and its pretty solid, save the giggly noisy metal buttons. thats gonna be my desktop model i think. couple of spinners too as well as random eGo's. but for simplicity, the K100 is my current fav.

Well as nice as the Evic is compared to other mods, it is limited to 10W, which can be very bad if you wrap some very low ohm coils. As far as i know the Provari is the highest output VV mod (its just in your price range and very well made/sturdy) so if you MUST have a screen with some info you should look it up.

If youre going to wrap super low ohm coils and want some epic clouds(and can deal without the features), the mechanical mod is probably the ultimate route, and with 200 you can get yourself a nice one, or 2 cheap ones and keep a backup somewhere you wont forget. As a note my Sigelei 19 with Nzonic cap was 30 bucks, and ive seen em go all the way up to 3000 bucks lol, so theres lots of price options etc out there




Edit: In regards to above post, you dont NEED to update the firmware, it will work just fine out of the box

i agree with susaz, if you have just 1 mod, and get seperated than your other choice is????? no!!!!!!!!! i dont understand a vape budget when we went so far to smoke? put at least as much effort into vaping as you did smoking....... we thank you in advance for a healthier lifestyle.

Ha! thanks. I really only have that much for the Right This Moment purchase. I'll no doubt be buying more stuff all the time, but I'm officially tired of my eGo Twist and am not getting enough info from my MVP to really know what voltage I should be keeping it at for the carto i have on it. The only answer is to buy more mods.

My easiest non-math scientific approach to ohms vs. watts is this...you take the amount of ohms and double it for voltage. For example, if you have a 2 ohm cart/clearo,then try it out at or around 4v. If you have a 2.5 ohm clearo/cart, maybe try it at 4.8 or 5 volts. Etc.

Yknow what makes me weary of the eVic? The 5 V limitation. I never thought I would vape at that voltage, but with 2.5 ohm heads on the Protank is the only way to get more vapor and flavor. So that's the only thing why I didn't put the eVic in my recommendations. The K100 is kickable, for future sub ohm coils...
