I just joined the forums today and I was hoping that those out there may be able to help me make a more informed decision in upgrading my setup. I have only been vaping for a few months using a starter kit my wife bought from one of those reduced price trial sites. No worries, it was purchased through an intermediary, so we were spared the extra charges to the credit card . I didn't even know she had bought them(one for me one for her) until after they arrived 1 month later, lol. Anyways, I want to step up to a more robust system. What I have now is a 510 thread, possibly a 250 mah batt,(not the smallest battery but not a big one either).

I was looking for a relatively small battery.I don't think I want to walk around with the large monster 1000 or 1300 mah setups out there. I have seen a few that run around 450( something slightly smaller than the ego c or inferno),and are about 3 1/8" long, that I could place a small tank on. I was hoping though that I could find one with a usb port on the end. I have seen larger batteries with this, including the inferno and the 1000 mah ego c's, but haven't seen any in the smaller sizes. I vape at work, and the smaller batt would be good for me,and the usb plug would be great at home cuz I seem to spend an inordinate amount of time in front of my computer. Do any of you know of a smaller sized batt that has the usb plug on the end? I know I could always buy a passthrough, but I figured 2 birds, one batt. :)

Also, I was curious if the smaller sized internal batts are replaceable at all. I know the larger rigs can. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:D

I'm frustrated here, as I have a lot of info that I could give you that is already written out in a guide, but since you are brand new you don't yet have access to it. You need 5 posts and then need for the forum to reset (can take up to an hour). I will post the links for you to view once you have completed the necessary steps.

Recommended starter's setup: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3706-4-good-starters-setup-beginning-vapor.html

Guide to juice delivery devices: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3230-1-proper-terminology-carto-tank-what-primer-juice-delivery-attachments.html

My recommendation would be getting an eGo battery of not less than 650 mah, which will give you 6.5 hours of vape time between charges. So based on that, you would need at minimum two batteries.

I'd recommend getting a few cartomizers (they generally come in packs of 5) and either some clearomizers or a mini vivi nova clearomizer tank for variety. Juice delivery devices all work a little differently in how they carry the juice and produce vapor, and vapors tend to prefer one over the other...hence try at least 2 types to get started.

Cant get much better advice then that...if you wanted a usb passthru i think there 1000 mah and a little longer than the 650 but longer life in the battery. Getting a juice that you like is really important. Make sure you get samplers so you can try different flavors and ratio's (vg/pg). Welcome to the forum...great place to learn a whole lot about this hobby maybe even too much info...LOL

Thank you both for the quick replies. I currently use the cartos on my little stick batt, so I thought maybe i would give one of the clearomizers a shot. I was just hoping to find a battery that was slightly smaller than the 650 but that also had the usb on the bottom. I think maybe the 650 is a little too large for what im looking for. Not the battery alone, but combined with a carto or clearo or tank. I've actually been looking around quite a bit to see what's out there. There was an ego-c upgrade passthrough 650mah that I was hemming and hawing over,so maybe ill give that one a try. Thanks again for your help :)

I really like (and highly recommend) Ego-C Twist and Vision Spinner batteries because they offer variable voltage, which is an extremely useful feature. I use them with changeable coils (for easy maintenance) clearomizers, like Tabac BCC, Kanger T3 and eVod (those are bottom changeable coils) or top changeable coil model like Vision Mini ViVi Nova.

Welcome to ECF and happy vaping! :)

I think I will eventually end up with a Vision Spinner 400 mah battery and some EVODS to carry around in a pocket.

THe 400 mAh Spinner is about the size of a 650 mAh eGo. Very nice battery! And it will look great with an eVod. Just remember that the 400 mAh battery will only last you about 3/1/2-4 hours, depending on the resistance of the coil in your eVod. The lower the resistance, the shorter the battery life!

I have a 900 mah knock off, and a 1300mah Vision Spinner, a EVOD, a MT3, and a ProTank should be here Monday. I think the small spinner and some EVODs would fit right in for smaller in the pocket. lol

I will also have a 1100 mah eGo type batter that I won in a contest last night. (Yay!) lol

From what i saw the 400mah Spinner is 78mm which is about the same size as a regular cigarette.

eGo Mini 350mAh Battery - Stainless Height: 56.65mm Diameter: 15.55mm

These are listed as "eGo Mini D 350mAh Battery" they have a "diamond" button whatever that means.

Wow so many helpful ideas. Thank you all for such quick responses.:toast: I like the baby t3, looks like something i could use. That mini ego certainly is tiny.:) Being such a beginner, would the VV really be a priority for me? Im not yet at that point where Im trying out alot of flavors or configurations in hardware. Im thinking at this point if I find something Ill stick with it for a while. I'm thinking if I go with VV ill try the 400 mah ego spinner, and just buy a cheap passthrough for when I'm home; but I did like the ego c with the passthrough usb built in. Its 600 mah,but I'm thinking with the baby t3 it wouldn't be too large to take to work.

Sometimes it seems like there are too many choices!

With variable voltage you don't have to worry so much about the resistance of the delivery device. You can adjust the battery to your taste. I would not recommend a non vv battery unless it was the cost to get started. I started with a non vv battery to see if I would like it. I have had a vv battery for about a week and I absolutely would not buy a non vv battery.

Oh and from the reading I did the baby T3 is the same size as the EVOD, the EVOD has replacable wick/coils and a metal case. I really like the EVODs. The mini T3 is plastic.

Yup! There ARE too many choices. :)

But that's what makes vaping fun! I am a big fan of variable voltage, but it is not a neccesity--if money is no object, get that 400 mAh Vision Spinner and a PT. Experiment!

I love my baby T3s, BTW. Get some extra coils, also. I find the 2.2-2.4Ω to be the most versatile resistance, especially if you decide to not get a VV battery.

Good luck!

Correct, baby T3 is the same overall length as the eVod (it has a smaller tank and longer mouthpiece). Evod is plastic too--on the inside--the shell is metal.

They are cute!!!!

images

They look evil.

1) I wanted to try IKenVape cartos. (I blame Baditude)
2) I got an email from IKenVape that they had Mega Fusion cartos in stock (which fit my IBTanks)
3) I went to IKenVape and discovered there were Platinum in stock too, but only in standard size
4) I only had one standard-sized carto tank, but I don't like it very much because it has grommets and it's hard to change cartos
5) I really wanted to try the Platinum cartos
6) See #4
7) I went to IBTanked and ordered a standard-sized tank
8) I ordered the Mega Fusion and the Platinum cartos from IKenVape
9) The IBTank arrived and it is teeny, Squeee! Uber Kawaii!!!
10) It would look so cute on a...
11) The 400 Spinner looks evil...
