My current setup is the Ego C-Twist Variable Voltage battery with the EVOD 2 Clearomizers. I do like this setup as it is simple works pretty good.
I am looking to upgrade to Mechanical Mod as I hear they are a better vaping experience. With the Black Friday Sales, I figured that this would be the best time to do it.
I have been hesitant to do this as it all seems so confusing to me. I don't really understand these products and need help. Being a person that likes things to be simple, I am looking for help to put together a simple yet good device that is easy to maintain. I don't need a Cadillac. A good solid Buick would do it for me until I learn the ins and outs out this intimidating mechanical world. I like to fill up and just vape away. I don't drip. I am assuming that these devices have variable voltage controls.

Thanks in advance.

An MVP v2 or an iStick with a mini Nautillus with bottom vertical coils would be something you could consider.

A mechanical does not have variable anything. With a mech mod the only way to "fine tune" your vape is to build a new coil (or change your stock coil). With a vv/vw regulated mod (and its buck/boost circuitry) you can "fine tune" with a push of a button. On a mechanical mod your voltage drops as you vape, with a regulated mod this does not happen. Your first hit is just as good as your last hit.

Doesn't sound like you really want a mechanical mod to be honest.

Tell me, why exactly do you want to upgrade?

While using a mechanical mod CAN provide a better flavor/vapor than using an ego-twist...that really depends on the coils YOU build.

If you aren't ready to start building coils on your own, a mechanical mod won't really be much of an upgrade at all.

Also, mechanical mods have kind of taken on the back burner these days...as the new regulated box mods are all the rage right now (and rightfully so).

The new box mods are regulated, yet they can go as high as 200+watts. All the power you would need for building your own coils.

If you want to upgrade , perhaps you should get a better delivery device? The evods are fantastic little devices....but the Kayfun is even better if you want to start building your own coils. If not, the Aspire Atlantis tank JUST came out, and would be a great choice.

Thanks for the replies. I guess what I am really looking for is something with more kick than the Evods. I am not interested in building coils. I started with the standard evod tanks and now love the difference with the Evod 2's. So maybe better tanks would do the trick for me? Also better variable batteries. Like I said, just want to keep it simple, The thing I have been noticing with the Evods and Evods 2 is that the coils seem to wear out pretty fast.

Well, the coils wearing out fast is quite normal.

In fact, the coils don't even actually "wear out". What happens, is that the more and more juice you vape, the more and more burnt/left over residue that sticks to the coil and wick. After a certain point, you start getting a burnt taste, and the vapor production/flavor wanes. This is normal, and happens on all devices/coils. Some DO last longer than others.
For instance, I use a kayfun and rebuild with japanese cotton....and I have to replace my cotton every tank (4-5mL). Depending on the e-liquid I've vaping, I can go longer sometimes.

I *highly* recommend you consider upgrading to a regulated box mod. The reason being, they function MUCH better than an ego-twist....and the batteries are replaceable in most higher wattage box mods. Also, unlike the ego twist....when the batteries are no longer usable (after 500+ cycles or so), you can toss em and order new batteries, without having to replace the mod itself (like you would with the ego twist).

You can upgrade to an iTaste MVP for $40 if you just want a better mod without spending too much, or you can spent $80-120 and get a box mod with 50-150watts, that will be an upgrade now, and will also still be the perfect device for if and when you decide to build your own coils.

Whether you decide to upgrade your mod or not, you definitely SHOULD upgrade your delivery device if you want more flavor/throat hit/vapor production. As I mentioned, I HIGHLY recommend the Aspire Atlantis. It uses sub-ohm coils, which is what most people who build their own coils build with when they are going for high vapor/flavor output.

The aspire atlantis can be found for as cheap as $30 right now, and it JUST came out. I've seen it as high as $50 at some places....

If you don't want to spend THAT much, go for the Aspire Nautilus. Great tank.
