I want one! I'm currently running a MVP 2.0 and I really like it as well, but want to get into something with some better flavor, and without all the hassles of clearomizers. my biggest concern is batteries. different seasons my house change and in the spring and fall I can work anywhere from 14 to 18 hours a day, if not the odd time more. I know my MVP has a 2600mah battery and iv vaped it for 2 days straight without a charge and it only dropped down to 3.7v from 4.1.

I know on the Reo site he recommends the AW IMR 18650 1600mah battery. but is it cool to us a 2600mah 18650 bat? im new to the whole battery thing. I don't know how long of run time you get out of the AW bat, but I vape about 2-4ml a day, but obviously when I am working those long hours I will be vaping more.

What kind of battery is it? Is it flat top or button top? Reason I ask is because the flat tops have a problem in current reos. As soon as the sub ohm kits come out it won't be a problem. Thats in a week or 2. Also this greatly depends on the resistance of the coil. A low ohm coil will eat through battery faster than a higher ohm coil. I use aw 1600 mah batteries. And as weird as it sounds it actually lasts longer than the aw 2000 mah batteries. Hope some fellow reonauts can come along with more info for you.

I don't have any batteries yet as I only have my MVP and plug it in over night and im good to go 2 days if need be. I would be buying batteries and charger along with the Reo.

I should also add, I am not looking to get into sub ohm coils yet. right now in my clearo's I am using 1.8 ohm coils, and I would like a bit warmer of a vape. so want to go lower but not sub ohm.
I gathered that from your post witch is why I believe one aw 18650 will do you just fine for the day . I would keep a spare batt at work just encase

Greetings Mr. Lips. I owned 2 MVPs prior to my first REO. My wife still uses the V2 and loves it. We like the form factor of a Box.

You mentioned the hassles associated with clearos. the bottom-fed RDAs that we use require some upkeep, but the satisfaction they provide make the upkeep seem like the opposite of hassle. I re-wick and dry-burn daily. Most others go a few days between dry-burn/re-wicks, but I love to fiddle.

About the batteries...the AW IMR 18650 1600MAH batteries have an amp limit of 26. This relatively high amp limit will allow you to run low-resistances safely. Although they won't last as long before a recharge is required, they'll support the builds that most of us prefer.

The 2000MAH AW IMRs will give you a longer life between recharges, but won't be able to support lower resistance builds.

Like you, I go through 2-4mL per day. Although I'll notice a drop-off in performance, I can easily leave the house for 12 hours with one fresh AW IMR 1600MAH 18650.

The vape is good enough that even if you do need to carry a spare you'll find a way, wouldn't be much different than carrying a lighter.

The 1600 actually holds a voltage above 3.7 volts longer than the 2000. Most of us find the vape starts to drop if we let the battery get lower than that. Some of the new LG and Sony batteries are getting good reviews but I've not seen test curves to show what voltages they hold under load and for how long.

true enough. what is the charge time for a 18650 battery?

Using a Pila charger, mine recharge (from 3.7 volts) back to 4.2 in about 20 minutes. As noted, though, carrying one extra battery is no big deal, although I'm a heavy vaper and still manage 9 hours continuous vape from one 18650.

The RM2 atomizer is easily rebuilt whenever you want to change it up, although I typically go 1-2 months between rebuilds. I vape unflavored, so if you don't, I wouldn't expect it to last quite that long, but a week at least before you need to rebuild.

I jump from vehicle to vehicle all the time, so don't really want to have to lug around extra gear. during harvest I am usually in 4 different semi cabs through out the day, but if I can get 12-14 hours out of a single battery I suppose it could be manageable.

If a Reo Grand doesn't do the distance, without backup battery or juice, I think you're out of luck, I don't think any amount of money is going to buy you something that will.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I used to get 24 hours out of a Grand, I used a Panasonic NCR 18650 PD 2900mAh nipple top because AW's are very expensive to ship to Australia, but I wasn't working 18 hours a day at the time. Also I vape a 1.7 ohm 8 turns 30 gauge coil which is easy on the battery, still, there is no comparison in vapor flavor and production compared to a clearo, the Reo is miles ahead.

But surely you have to eat? Can you fit a spare batt and juice bottle in your lunch box for "just in case"?

Worse case scenario, it doesn't suit you, you can sell it and get back pretty much what you paid for it. One of the benefits of the Reo with an RM2 is if you drop it, the RM2 is not going to break like a clearo or glass tank would. I had an MVP, it was a good mod, but honestly, the Reo is much more durable. It has a 6ml bottle so you could fill it in the morning and be good till you got home. The only extra thing I would carry would be one extra battery until you know if one freshly charged battery will last you all day (I suspect it will). The grand is just a tad smaller than a regular size business card and 1" thick. You have size, durability and convenience all in one nifty little package.

Ian's post was spot on. The run time with a quality 18650 like an AW IMR would be hard to top. If that doesn't get ya thru, can't think of much else that would :)

Not to mention the durability - can't think of anything that even comes close to that offered by a metal REO. I mention that because you are in and out of different rigs throughout the day and it sounds like your chances of your mod hitting the ground are increased.

That's the beauty of having a small form factor, and juice in the mod rather that on it - if it drops, most likely you'll carry on like it never happened. Worse drops may damage the drip tip.

That said, I carry nothing but the grand when I leave. But if I had to leave for 8 + hours, I'd put my 18650 flashlight in the car with a fresh battery so I could take it out and use it in my grand if necessary. :)

Or I might take a second grand. Dunno. Never had to leave for that long since I started vaping :)

I do have to eat, but I do not have a lunch box. all meals are supplied from the company. :)

I think the Reo will do my just fine though. Like another guy said, a spare bat is no different then carrying around a lighter, and I did that for 10 years smoking. so it wont be a big deal.
