Hello Folks!

I've been vaping for about a year and a half. Started with a Volcano Inferno, moved up to a Tesla with a Kanger Pro tank 2 rebuildable, but it is a bit of a PITA to rebuild and i want to move up to a better dual post style with the atomizer below the tank, since my tesla spends a lot of time lying on its side. I've been using 32 gauge Kanthal and 2.5mm cotton wicking.

Its been suggested to drop down to a 26 gauge wire so I can build a 2.4-to 2.8 ohm atomizer for my 3.7 volt battery (my Tesla volt adjustment is 3.0 to 6 volt.) I'm not ready for sub ohm vaping (probably eventually lol)

Any suggestions?

Since you are looking for a tank rebuildable atomizer, I highly recommend a Kayfun-style RBA. I've got an authentic KFL+ and its great at 1.3 - 1.5 ohms. You can get an KFL+ EHPro clone for around $40.

Any form of Russian/Kayfun. I am vaping on a Svoemesto Kayfun lite plus v2 as I type this. Super happy with it. I will be buying more of this style. I am running mine with a cherry vapes cloud chaser delrin drip tip,28 gauge kanthal at 1.3 ohms, koh gen doh cotton in the coil, and the air flow screw removed. Did I happen to mention I was super happy with it.:)

Hello!

You might consider 28 gauge. It heats up a little faster and is a little easier to build with. If you click on my signature line, the Steam-Engine is a great tools for coil building. You could play with the numbers and see what gauge wire might work best for you.

What type of a draw do you like? Stiff or more airy? I'm a lung hitter so I like a looser, more airy draw.

Thanks for the Suggestions! And Susan, thank you for the Steam-Engine link...very handy! I think for the under $30 price I will order one this week and give it a try. The ProTank2 is a good unit, but its a bit annoying to make the rebuildables...too likely to get a short when putting it all together and you cant see the wires if they happen to touch. The video's on the Russian/kayfun look pretty easy to put together. Thanks!

    Yes you made that obvious.

What I have to suggest is that you do a lot of reading before upgrading to a rebuildable.
First you need a better understanding of ohms law. Then you need to learn how different wire size effects resistance. I can't imagine a 2.8 ohm 26ga coil even fitting in a RBA, and if it did, it would take a week & a day to heat that much wire.

Ok, I have been doing some reading here... http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/6293-14-ohms-law-dummies.html near the bottom it says "For RBA users: When using the Ohm's Law Calculator to calculate the battery amp draw of a coil in a RBA, always use 4.2 volts as the voltage (a fully charged battery's voltage).

So when looking at http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m9dkanCt0I1qc8949o2_1280.png instead of 3.7v for my 18650 battery, now I'm looking at 4.2volts. When looking at the chart, and that most mod's with vv are around 3.0 V to 6.0 V that gives me the following Ohm atomizers I can use 3 ohm to 4 ohm. Am i reading this right?

    thanks!
