Looking to replace my old HG2's

Hi all

I've had my old HG2's around 18 months now and I'm looking to replace them. I would choose to buy them again but know they are not as good as they used to be.

So I have a choice between getting 30Q's or sticking with HG2's. If you could chose which would you go for?

I am trying to decide between these two because they are easly available to me and i'm still looking for a battery with 3000mah capacity and 20a cdr. (I know mooch has rated the HG2 18a now).

Yeah I'm leaning towards them too but just wanted to get the input of people who have had experience using them. How would you rate their loss in capacity over time vs HG2's? I charge at 500mah most of the time bty unless I'm in a rush then occasionally charge at 1a.

Oh yeah my vaping range is between 40 and 80W using dual series regulated mods.

My charger is set to 1 amp, but I've charged em at 2 amps without a problem. Er... that's for the HG2s... I only have one set of Sammies I just purchased..so far, though, they're every bit the battery they're supposed to be...

Honestly you can't go wrong with either battery, but saying that my vote goes for the hg2's. They are the batteries I use and they perform great. Better yet get 2 hg2's, 2 30q's, and 2 vtc6's, that way you can keep married sets and don't have to mark them because they already look different from one another. Plus you'll always have a set charged while not overworking any two batteries.

Yeah I have a couple of sets of HG2's that I've had for about 18 months and a couple of sets of 25R's that I've had for about 2 years that I have in rotation but think it's about time to replace them all. I was very happy with my old HG2's but the new batches of them don't perform as well according to mooch. So I was thinking maybe getting 30Q's this time would be a better option.

Ive been wanting 30Qs for a while now but China wont ship them to Canada and its starting to seem like my only option is to buy from the states and hope they get through customs(have heard some absolute horror stories about batteries at the border).

30Q's. I had the same choice two weeks ago and chose 30Q's and I'm very glad I did, a fantastic cell.

I chose HG2s simply because they have been out for a while & nobody complains about them.

I have to say I really don't notice any real difference between the HG2 and 30Q, I purchased the 30Q's the last and like them both equally, I did notice a slight drop in quality in the last HG2's I bought about 6 months ago compared to the ones I bought a year ago, not sure if it was vendor difference or if I just got used to them.

My biggest concern with the HG2s is that they are now the only cell currently listed as "frequently faked" on @Mooch chart. Ive got HG2 and I am about 95% sure that they're real but when you hear that the battery you use is frequently faked it always leaves room for a little doubt. I realize that any cell can be faked and that we never know 100% for certain(unless your name is Mooch), but if one cell is faked more than the rest then you gotta keep an eye out and maybe choose an equally well performing cell of a different make.
