Looking to start investing in more gear

So I'm thinking about stepping up my game a bit, and I've been poking around a bit, and some of the prices online for clones are ridiculous compared to local B&Ms, many of which are stocking clones themselves.

What are some things I should be weary of when ordering clones from China, aside from long ship times?

Here's some of the stuff I'm looking at:

Russian 91% Clone
Russian rebuildable atomizer
A friend of mine has the R91, and spent about $130 locally, and I absolutely love the hit from it. Anyone have some experience here?

Nemesis Clone
$25.68 Nemesis Style Mechanical Mod (Mixed Edition) at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
I've watched many reviews and most say it's nearly flawless

Poldiac Clone
$19.26 Poldiac Mechanical Mod - removable top cap at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
Looks beautiful, and reviews seem nice.

King Clone
$19.70 King Style Mechanical Mod - adjustable 510 center pin / 18500 tube&Kick tube at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
Seen a real one in person, and it was nice.

I'm hotly debating on essentially all of the above, any ideas? Are the clones worth it, or should I just spring for the real deal?

I personally don't buy clones or anything from a Chinese vendor, no offense to anyone here who does. But I think that in general, you get what you pay for. I also believe in paying the designer/manufacturer of the genuine article the cash for their hard work and craftsmanship. If I were you, I'd get the Kayfun Lite plus, and a decent mech mod. I have a genuine KFL+ and a Turtle Ship and am very happy with both. If you do go the clone route, just remember, you get what you pay for. In the long run though, anything is better than smoking cigarettes! :) Good luck and happy vaping to you.

Good job with the k100 and the I go w setup . it hits right and its a fantastic intro to the mod life. But as rubyroo said buying genuine equipment keeps people who have a genuine love/interest in the future of vaping in business. Clones are cheap but quality is usually junk they'll last a little bit but you'll have to live with ....ty spring buttons that get hot/ arc so on and so forth just save for the next hard hitting mod on the block.
Keep vaping brother

Any recommendations on low to mid priced gear for those of us new but worried about sinking a lot of money into experimenting?

I think that is why many people go the clone route, to get their feet wet. Most probably waste money in the process. There is so much information on this board it can be overwhelming at times.

Thanks,
Rich

You could get a smokech magneto. If you look around you can find them for less than $40, from a US based retailer. It's telescopic and a good way to get your feet wet. For a RDA you could get an igo-l or igo-w, they are 12-$15. If you want an RBA I'd strongly suggest an RSST, around $20. You could get an AGA-T2 but I hear they can be finicky to build on.

You can get Sony VTC3 or VTC4 batteries for $7.25 to$15 depending on who you order them from. There are less expensive options to choose.

If you are considering ordering from a Chinese seller, like Fasttech just be aware that the shipping can take a very long time. Plus Chinese New Year is almost upon us, so that might cause further delays

All my local B&Ms are ridiculously priced, there are around 30 within 20 miles of me. My regular shop, where I get most of my juice, sells a protank 1 for $25, a protank 2 for $35. The Vamo V3 is about $80 there body only, and the K101 is about $80 as well. An ego 650mAh runs in the $25 range, etc. And they're the least expensive shop within about 10 miles!

Another local shop has the Innokin 134 for over $200! I've tried VaporKings and they're pretty much the same. I found a little niche shop in town with some decent homemade juices, but a majority of their mods are clones. I bought my Vamo v5 (legit) from them for about $75, which came with an Efest 18650 2000mAh, a TrustFire charger, and a bottle of juice for about $70, that's the best I've found so far.

Out of my entire list in the OP, the only 2 I'm almost fixed upon is the Nemesis clone and the Russian clone, simply because everything about them seems very highly rated, and I can't really find any bad things listed anywhere for either one. The others, I just absolutely love the look, and they seem decently priced.

On a side note, I'm not sure if I should start a new thread, but I'm looking at getting into mixing some of my own juice (probably 0 nic until I get the hang of it). Are there any detailed starting guides that give a good breakdown of pricing, recipes, etc?

If you are brand new and never vaped before, what I described probably isn't for you. You'll just want 1 or 2 egos, maybe an mvp2 instead, a few evods, and some replacement heads.

I'm about three weeks in, haven't touched a cig. I started with a gas station e-cig, saw it was a vaste of money and found a B&M locally that sold me what looks to be some CE5 clone starter kit for about 40 bucks. I just want something simple and decent quality for about a month, then I'm going to full on dork out. The evod looks like it will do the trick.

Thanks again, sorry if I hijacked the thread.
