I have two RDAs, the "Mako Shorty" and "Twisted Messes Squared" (with three basses).

The Mako Shorty is not a hard hitter, very short, usually pretty warm to hot and I do not recommend it.

The Twisted Messes Squared is new for 2016. You can dial down the air intake/velocity very low OR open it up and crank on it. It has a very deep well for juice, which means you do not have to refill it as often. It is a unique two post design, with four holes for coil leads. It is one of the easiest RDAs to build on. I bought two extra basses so that I can change to a base with a different flavor or coil build. I plan to buy at least 5 to 10 of these for the vapocalypse.

If you are new to coil building and want an easy way to get coils that are not TC (temp control) buy "UD Ferris Wheel" with Kanthal A1 coils. You get more than 50 coils and it lets you try your hand at the basics before you dive in to coil building.

Wow, thanks for all the responses... I prefer flavor over clouds and I tend to vape cool and MTL, though I do also have subohm gear that I use almost every day. I suppose what I want is a well-endorsed tootle dripper with plenty of room to build in.

Well, for toodle dripping, I would think you'd want something that'll accommodate a standard drip tip and something with either low, or adjustable air flow. You're probably not going to want mass airflow for your purposes. I'm not much into cloud chasing either. I prefer a nice, thick vape that hits hard on the throat, but not too much of it at a time. It's all about flavor and throat hit for me. What I typically have rocking is a subohm build, around 25 watts, but with a very restricted air flow, and I only fire for a few seconds after heat up. That's my vape happy place. Absolutely luscious flavor, hits hard on the throat, doesn't fog the room.

To be fair, most of my attys are from my old school mech mod days*. I did recently pick up a Sapor. I gotta say it's an all around good atty for versatility. I can run a set up I really like. The top air flow is great, and the airflow is adjustable. It's not especially expensive; I paid around $35 for it. I think it would do you just fine. It's really the only atty I can recommend, as most of my others I doubt you'd be able to find anymore at your convenience. They're pretty old.

*WARNING! Mech mods can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. Don't just go get one because I mentioned it. This was years ago; in my opinion, modern regulated tech is better anyway. If you are going to get one, do your research. You have to manually regulate an unregulated mod to use it safely. Don't just jump in.

I own...oh...a lot of RDA's and I love them for their flavor, for the fact that I can rebuild them (bugger off, FDA!) and 'cause they look pretty. But I gotta admit, dripping can be a royal PITA. It's messy, can't be safely done while driving a car..it does have some drawbacks.

My suggestion is to get a Kanger Dripbox. They're ridiculously easy to rebuild, the flavor is just as good as what comes out of Royal Hunter or a Derringer, and you don't have to mess around with the bottle all the time. I thought that not being able to adjust the wattage on the Dripbox would be not good, but the 60w preset (the only wattage you can vape with it) is perfect right where it's at.

As for rebuilding on the deck, the post holes are a decent size - I have no trouble threading a 24g dual coil in there.

The only con I can find for the Dripbox (also called a Squonker by some OP) is that my e-juice budget has gone way up. I plow through juice like there's no tomorrow with this mod!
