Hello,

I currently have a iStick 50w with a Kanger Subtank mini that I use RTA and build my own .6 ohm coils.

I am looking to get another device that I can charge my own batteries. I know the life on my iStick will run out someday so I was hoping to upgrade to something that has removable batteries.

The one that I've narrowed it down to is a IPV mini 2. I don't really need the 70w since I usually lock my iStick at 15w with my rebuildables. I'm not into cloud chasing, but I do want something reliable and that has a removable 18650, and will work with my Kanger Subtank Mini RTA.

Thanks for the replies!

Ok, I'll take a stab at this for ya. If you like to vape at around 15 watts or lower a tank and resistance that works best in the 20-30 watts range I'd say you might prefer other types of tanks like the Lemo or kayfun style. Frankly, I am surprised that you get a decent vape off a .6 ohm coil on the iStick 50 set at 15 watts but to each his own.
The above suggested RTA's are often run at lower wattage (10- 15) and generally produce cooler vapor than say, the Atlantis or Subtank variety which are bigger producers of warmer vapor. You would also do well to try the higher ohm coil option offered for the Kanger Subtank series.

As regards the iPV mini 2. Again if you don't use rda's and are into cooler vaper, this device is probs overkill. It has no 'buck' and so will not allow you to vape a low resistance coil at a lower voltage than the battery itself.

Maybe a Provari or the like:confused:

I hate these answers. He didn't ask for your opinion on the proper use of his devices. Just what is a good next device for him to buy..

Do you tell the PICKUP truck owner to sell their truck, because the don't haul cargo?
My Motorcycle does 60 2 seconds and 1/4 mile in 10, yet I rarely break 70mph. Apparently I am doing something wrong.
Maybe we should ban the Corvette. After all the speed limits are such that you never need to get out of 2nd gear.
Who NEEDS a 60" TV.
Couple years ago you might have been laughed at for suggesting a SUB OHM coil.

I deleted my original reply to this.
Without understanding a person's use of a device, how can you make a recommendation?
So answer the OP's question yourself then instead of complaining about my attempt to help.

Good question....

So why did you recommend a Lemo or Kayfun style tank when all you know and understand is that he's looking for a new MOD? I don't recall him having any complaints about his choice in tank or it's performance, so why did you feel it necessary to recommend a different one? Not to mention recommending a $150-$200 tube mod when the one he has and the one he is looking at getting are both small box mods that cost less than half that price.

Now, to the OP...

What exactly are you wanting from a new mod? Obviously a replacable 18650 battery, but do you have any specific criteria you want beyond that? Size, power rating, form factor (tube or box), charging method, etc... And of course there is the obvious question of your budget. What are you willing to spend?

The because: simply put, he is choosing devices that do not suit his vaping style and I was offering suggestions of other tanks that I thought might be interesting for him to look into. Trying to read into a few short lines in someone's post isn't exactly easy when offering assistance.

example:

"Now, to the OP...

We know nothing about the OP other than the fact he likes a cooler vape at lower wattage and he wants a removable 18650 mod as an upgrade and something reliable that will work with his existing purchases. The iPV mini 2 would be unsuited as I already said. OK, the Provari comment:facepalm:early morning blunder but in a way it does fit the criteria(except the price):(

Am I bad for not just answering the question and going a little deeper. Ok, over to the you.

Ok guys, no offense taken from anyone. I appreciate ALL input.

I'm really just looking for a backup/second mod for my iStick. I like the iStick and it vapes GREAT at 15w with a Subtank Mini with a .6 ohm RTA. I definitely like a cooler vape. I can go anywere between 15-18w depending on the weather (a little warmer vape is nice if the weather is cold).

I'm not too set on form factor, but I would like it to have a screen with all of the info. Basically the iStick is perfect, I just wish it had removable 18650's instead of built-ins. Like I said, I like the iStick and will continue to use it, so the next mod I get is going to be second in the rotation, and also serve as a backup. I would prefer a power rating of at least 30w (just in case I decide to use it), and I would like to charge the batteries on a seperate charger like the EFest Soda, and I'm looking at keeping my budget around $50-75ish which is why I mentioned the IPV Mini 2.

Thanks for the input!

Migfht what to look at the sigelei 30 watt, I think they run under $40 run on one 18650 smaller form factor with decent screen readout.

Ok that looks perfect! I'll check into it a bit more before I buy. I REALLY wish they would stop putting the USB charger on the bottom. Oh well, I want to remove the battery anyway to charge.

Ok that was the one. Just picked it up with a Efest Soda charger, and two Samsung 18650's. Thanks everyone for the input!
