It's my first non-disposable vaping setup, and I've only had it for a week, and while it does what it does rather well, there are just too many juices I want to try that don't play well with plastic. The adapter route just seems unwieldy, so I'm looking for a bit of an upgrade. I don't really know what I have in mind, though definitely something with these traits:

-Manual
-Glass clearomizers
-I think I'd like a bottom-coil system rather than the wicked top-coil system
-Preferably something with cheap coils
-Something with a more standard threading so I can use more than one type of tank, and interchange batteries and things

Other than that, I'm basically clueless. I'll set the budget around roughly $100 for the kit (which hopefully includes 1-2 batteries, 1-2 tanks, and a charger/carry case) but if it's something that really impresses me I'll step that budget up and wait a bit.

Bump before I head off. I was looking at the iTaste VV 3.0, and it seems to be pretty great. Variable voltage and wattage, should be customizable enough, but not too crazy for a beginner like myself. Looks like the iClear 30 is also a glass clearomizer, which is important since apparently most juices corrode plastic tanks. How's the iTaste from someone who's used it before?

Kerzak: I started off with the Halo Triton also. Here are some links to the upgrades I have used that will meet your parameters also. Unfortunately most of these links will show presently out of stock and you will have to search for other vendors and just maybe you will find some better prices.

Glass tank with bottom coil- I am using the Kanger Protank II mini $11.99 Kanger Protank II mini - 101 Vape

Kanger Protank Replacement coils $5.99 for a five pack http://101vape.com/clearomizers/40-kanger-protank-replacement-coils.html

With this $2.99 adapter you can use your Halo Triton batteries with your Kanger Protank II mini glass tanks 808 to Ego Adapter - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes
I screw this on to any of my Halo Triton batteries and that allows me to screw on my Kanger Mini Protank II glass tanks. It does not look too goofy or unwieldy but there is a small gap between the bottom of the tank and the Triton battery and it works just fine with no other adjustments necessary. Unfortunately this adapter has been out of stock at MBV for some time. You may be able to find it in stock elsewhere. There are also short beauty rings that are available to fill in the small gap but I did not purchase one and do not plan to do so because I am not purchasing any more Halo Triton products because of this thread issue.

If you want to also move up from your Halo Triton batteries you might want to try this very popular Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 at $39.99 Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 - 101 Vape which will give you over twice the battery life of your Halo batteries (it is 2600 mAh) and it features variable voltage and variable wattage functions and has a very useful ohm meter built in.

I think these items will keep you well within your $100 budget. I use all of them and am well pleased with the vaping experience they provide. Hope all this helps.

Hey the iclear 30 is not a glass tank and is a top coil. However I do like them just wish the tank was glass/pyrex or something that wouldn't crack from some juices.

The iclear 30B is not glass but is a different material and advertised not to crack and is a bottom coil (ordered one today). I'm trying out a protank 3 and so far so good. I just put it on today and so far no leaks or problems (that I didn't cause).

I kid, I kid!!

The iTaste VV3 is a great next step for a small battery. The MVP is raved about, and offers really long battery life between charges. Both are well reviewed and very affordable, and both can handle your experimentation/growth with the variety of tanks/toppers you may most likely be trying in the coming months.

Good luck!

I started with the Triton kit then went to an ego c-twist and Vision Spinner which are really similar to the Triton but offer variable voltage. I'm currently using an MVP v2 and that's what I would recommend at this point. It's really not as big as you might think. I thought the same as you the first time someone tried to sell me one. After reading so many great reviews I decided to revisit it. Once I had it in my hand I was surprised at how comfortable it felt. If you can get somewhere to check some stuff out in person, try it and see what you think.

Yep, started with triton too. Didn't think I'd like the MVP either at first, but loving it now. Certainly seems to be the best bang for the buck. I'm thinking of getting a second one because I miss it when it's charging! (Pass thru yes, but on a short leash!) the iClears are nicer than I thought too, but I found top coils seem to give a warmer vape IMO. They will go thru some juice tho!
