With a Patriot RDA you will have to build the coils yourself. It can be a good setup, depending on how you make it. The Atlantis is a Sub-Ohm tank, the Patriot is a "Dripper" - you will take 3 - 6 drags and have to add e-liquid manually. Wicking and wire gauges are particular to each individual, I mainly just use Japanese Organic Cotton and 24-28g Kanthal.

Hi and welcome. With that Pegasus you're going to need batteries and a charger. In that mod I recommend Samsung 25Rs. You can charge on board, but I prefer to carry spares and swap. Up to you. If you want a stand alone charger, think Nitecore or Xtar or Efest Luc. I have a patriot, and its a nice piece of gear. I bored the top cap on mine in increase air flow.

The gear you like is the gear you like. There's nothing wrong with your picks. If I were doing it, I'd have made different choices. You can buy a Sigelei 75w TC machine for about the same price as a TC pegasus. For the price of an authentic patriot you can get an authentic Council of Vapor Aris Pro or a Wotofo Sapor authentic for flavor, plus an authentic Fishbone V1 glass top for cloud. Just a thought...

Yeah i know somewhat about coil building as well as the patriot being a dripper and that is the way I want to go. I'm more confused about the ohms law, what gauge of kanthal wire I should use, as well as the wicking material.

I would want to get at least 2 batteries as well as the charger. I'll probably get the Samsung 25Rs like you said and then one of those chargers you recommended. What RDA would you recommend? The Wotofo Sapor sounds pretty good because I like flavor but I just don't know. I would like something pretty easy to work with that won't give me much hassle.

I like the Sapor a good deal, actually. I rate it even or slightly below the Council of Vapor Aris Pro for a flavor RDA, and it has the benefit of opening the air wide enough for cloud if you want. It is also easy to build with plenty of room. If I may offer a suggestion, blow the 10 bucks on a Dark Horse clone. Get one with both a 510 drip tip and a chuff cap. It's about the most versatile dripper I have. Then play with it. Build it for cloud, build it for flavor, test things out. When you figure out what you want in a dripper, then buy a good one. Or maybe, like me, you'll want both kinds. Whatever. I can say the Sapor is not expensive; if you catch it on sale you can get an authentic for under 30 bucks. And the Aris Pro in the same range. I like the Aris as it lends itself to vertical coils and a horseshoe wick, which is beautiful for flavor. But the Sapor does a great job with horizontals anyway. I have mine built right now down to .3 ohms and it's a cloud blower in that range, but the flavor still makes my eyes water. It's a really nice atty.

Ref your batteries, buy them from RTDVapor, or Orbtronic or Illumn. That way you'll get authentic ones; batteries are often counterfeited. The charger can safely be bought on eBay to save a couple dollars. Or you might find a deal on one of the suppliers I linked, for batteries and charger bundled for a lower price. Another solid choice for batteries for that mod would be the LG HE2s or HE4s, so don't limit yourself to just the Sammys if you can get a deal. The Sony VTC4s are all I ever buy, but I use mech mods a lot and I don't want a lot of different spec batteries laying around. The Sonys are capable of more power amp draws, but they hold less mAh so they won't last as long in a lower powered mod that doesn't require their current capacity. If you are uncertain, like or quote this post and I'll come have a look at whatever you want to do and offer my opinion, for whatever it may be worth to you. And another thing: if you're going to carry batteries around with you, especially in your pocket but really anywhere, get a silicone battery sock or three while you're ordering and use them. It's a lot safer. I buy my batteries from RTD, and they send them in plastic battery cases when you buy at least a pair. Those are good, and keep them in the cases when not in the charger or mod. Or buy cases or extra silicone socks. Here's a pic of the sock:

I mainly use 26 gauge Kanthal with Japanese Organic Cotton. As for figuring out how many wraps to build my setups I use Coil wrapping | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators just enter your info and it tells you what you need to know.
