The question itself is, what is a good solution to replace or mod my e-cig to suit my needs?

I've been vaping on a blu for about a year and a half now, well before they redesigned their atty's at least. I realized pretty quick that I hate using their carts. They never seemed to last, and always seemed weak, in both flavor and "hit." For a while now I've been dripping and prefer that for numerous reasons. The problems I do have (I think) relate to the atty's that came with the blu. The batt is still going strong, but I feel like I've flooded the atty a few times. They've gotten to the point where I'm not getting much from them. I've tried cleaning them, various times and ways, but still looks like there's a good amount of crud on the coil.

I'm looking to upgrade from the stock blu. I'm not sure I know what's best, to look for a whole new product, or to look into other parts to add/replace what I've got now. I could be up for either, but have no idea what's best in either direction.

I prefer dripping, and really like the thick vapor / heavy hit feel. I don't care about battery life too much, only really use it sitting at my desk. Also don't care about adding additional size to the blu if modding is the way to go. I don't use the pack much so if it's too big for that, that's fine.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hey! I'm a very new to vaping...only about 2 1/2 weeks so my opinion doesn't hold much weight. I started with Green Smokes. Good enough to get me off of analogs, but I grew to dislike them quickly. I moved on to a TW Tornado Tank (it's also known as the Ego). It was great for a few days, but I realized quickly I needed a big battery mod. So, I'm just waiting for the Omega to come back into stock. I wish I would have gone straight to the mod and skipped over the Tornado.

Bottom line: I say go for a big battery mod. Lots more power and a better all around experience.

Hi and welcome to ECF.

There are many options that are upgrades from Blu. Depending on what you want to spend, if you like dripping you would probably really enjoy a fedder mod, but they are pretty pricy but they are dripping to the max. If you don't want to spend a lot a big battery style or a 3.7V mod with a low resistance atomizer makes much more heat and vapor production. Look around at some other posts and see what you may like there is always talk of different models going on all over.

You really shouldn't be dripping on auto batteries. And the usual Blu atty replacement is Joye 306 and 306 carts but I drip 306 on a 510 battery and that atty WILL drop the liquid on the end of your battery if you put in too much or shake it. I like them because they blow out easier but I use them on the totally sealed Joye 510 manuals.

How about a manual Joye 510 (nobox kit around $36 at Cignot.com) - very nice for dripping with the totally sealed end. And if you need a PCC, NoSmokeVA.com has a very nice one for for 510. And I mostly use Boge 510 cartomizers on it (you have to use standard resistance) - they vape great and I get a week or more use out of each using thin juices. Even though the threading is fairly compatible, you cannot charge a 510 on a Blu charger or PCC nor can you do vice versa - Blu is opposite electrical polarity so its chargers will melt 510 and 510's will melt Blu.

Thanks for all the advice guys!

I've been looking at a few sites for a while trying to figure out what would work.

I'm kind of surprised to hear the suggestions of a new/bigger battery, I didn't think it would do much by itself to increase vapor production. I'd lean more towards another solution mostly because I don't have a whole lot of faith in the well-used atty's I have right now. I figured if I had to replace anything it'd be them.

I've also looked at cignot.com a bit (thanks for that link!) and I've got a few questions about some of the products they have. The first is what is the difference between the 510 and the eGo? Second, both the 510 and eGo have T models (510-T/eGo-T). Does anyone have feedback on the tank system? It seems like a good idea, but not sure how well it would work in practice. And how hard would it be to swap out tanks for the sake of vaping different flavors, or refilling them for that matter?

Again thanks!

The 510 and eGo are really just different batteries and anything you can put on a 510 will work on the eGo. However, one eGo battery will usually last all day. It's about the size of a Sharpie. A lot of us, especially me, found the battery life of the cigarette sized batteries to be a source of frustration.

The tanks have mixed reviews a lot of people like them, some people hate them. I used an eGo type A tank and wasn't all that impressed but, there are plenty of others that will disagree. The type B is out now. It's bigger. The 510 tanks are pretty new. They seem to have even more mixed reviews.

I vape strictly the ego tank system... I now use the "B" type which can hold 2 mls of juice... also using the "low res" attys... ZERO problems and have been vaping on them since they came out... Great TH if you vape 18mg or more... and great vape if you use a 50/50 pg vg mix... and try to stay to clear juices... you can use dark brown choc's but they tend to gum up the atty more... Cignot has a nice vid on cleaning the tanks as well... Both type A and B come in low res..

I've been direct dripping on the small light durable M-40x auto batts and auto PT (paint wearing off) nearly 2 years.
No problem w/ fluid ruining those batts.
I love that cart ends can be cut off for tail pipe dripping.
Flavor change is quick.
Only thing I don't like about M-40x; draw is tougher than 510.

I have 510 but it's not for me. Heavier, longer, tip heavy, hot atty, short batt life. Vapes nice though.

I'm thinking of going w/ a Smoore M601 or Joye 306 next. I like exposed atty designs; not as tip heavy.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone.

At this point, I think I'm going to go with an eGo-T type B. Just seems to be the thing I'd enjoy most. While I prefer dripping now, it's mostly because I can't stand using the blu carts (just terrible). Dripping can be a tad tedious, and I never seem to get much consistency. I'm thinking the tank system will solve all that for me.

One last question, where should I buy? Leaning towards Cignot, but don't know of many options.
