I apologize in advanced if this has already been discussed but I couldn't find it in my search.

I recently bought several 1oz. bottles of Lorann's and a 2oz. bottle of Wilton's glycerin. This will last me along time and I wanted to see if anyone knows what the self life of both of these are once they've been opened? Should they be kept refridgerated or on the shelf?

Thank you for any imput!

Glycerin, when kept properly closed, cool and dark, will last at least a year. I'd suggest a dry corner of the basement or back of a closet for bulk amounts.

2 ounces will probably only last a daily vaper a few months however, and basically as long as you don't leave it on the back of the stove or in the windowsill, just about anything else should be fine. If it's in an opaque container, there is even more leeway.

I meant to respond to that (Loranns) as well... and I forgot

When I first got into DIY juices a few months back, I raided my sister's candy making supplies, given that she had 50-60 of the little sample bottles of Lorann's flavors. They've been there at least 18 months, including several open but nearly full ones I snagged. They were all in perfect condition, still as delicious as the first time I sampled the fresh hard candy she made from them.

I'll never tell her this- but good thing for me the candy didn't sell better :D

/come to think of it, I swiped a gallon of vg from her stockpile too haha

This is all very good info. None of my flavorings (Loranns and Capellas) have expiration dates, and I was wondering the same thing about their longevity. I think there would only be an issue if there is water present and the flavor compound can hyrolyze with it. Fruit flavors in juices with water in them have been shown to go bad after about 6 months, even unopened and in the fridge. So it depends on if a vendor is adding water to thin the juice, and if the compound can over time react with it. Water is not present in the flavors I have, just flavor, PG and sometimes alcohol. So it seems that as long as they are kept dry, they should keep a very long time.
