Okay, I am new to mixing my own liquid and made a trip to the Hobby Lobby today. I picked up some Loranns Strawberry, Cherry and Butterscotch flavors as well as 2 bottles of Wilton Glycerine. On the way home i stopped at the local Kroger grocery store and found Imitation Rum and Imitation Coconut flavors. I came home and made 2 samples using equal parts Marl. juice from ruyan and Glycerine. Then one batch added strawberry and rum flavors together, which was actually pretty good and the other butterscotch, which was also pretty decent.

So I am wondering now, should I be using the Glycerine? I looked for PG but neither place had it. Is glycerine a substitute for PG or should it be used together? I'm confused and wanted to make sure what I have done here will not harm me... If its okay, could I just use glycerine and the flavorings? I noticed that all the flavors I have do contain PG. Thanks in advance!

This tread I wrote should be of help to you. It also explains the differences between PG and VG: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...28951-my-diy-guide-newbies-carts-liquids.html

You should be careful that your flavors are water soluble. You will need to use either glycerin or PG and you can mix them if you want. It is much harder to find PG at stores, but as you found it is easy to find VG. VG is thicker so you may need to cut it with some distilled water or alcohol like vodka or everclear. It is no issue that the flavorings themselves contain PG. You use literally drops of this stuff, so you will need either PG or VG as your main base. Again if you check my thread above I think you will get many of your questions answered. If not there are a ton of folks here who can help.

Oh, so the bottle of Wilton Glycerine I got is what everyone refers to as VG?

Thank your for the thread, I will read it right away...

Glycerin can come from vegetables or animals. Usually people here think of glycerin in the vegetable sense so hence the abbreviation "VG". The Wilton's stuff doesn't say how it is made, however, someone was good enough on this forum to send them an email asking. Apparently they told this person that it is made from plant extracts.
