Your digestive system is designed to process insoluble material, your respiratory system is not.

Lipoid pneumonia is caused by getting oil in your lungs and can kill you dead but I imagine it'd make you really sick first.

You might try mixing it with PGA and see if you can make it soluble but if you can't get it to mix properly you shouldn't vape it.

I've used it. Even wrote up a recipe with it. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-liquid-recipes/68612-good-n-plenty.html#post1415541

Careful, I'd only stopped smoking a few days before that recipe was posted and it's on the strong side. It's not nearly as strong as a mint oil, but I think that is due to them using fennel seeds instead of anise. As long as it is not cold, it mixes pretty well.

Yes, I've read the warnings on vaping oils many times. Yes, I do and still vape oils, like anise and mints. No, I've never had any issues with my lungs. You might be able to do a search and find the post where Rolygate stated he had been vaping DIY mix with a mint oil for 9 months straight and he had no lung issues either. If you look up the reported causes of lipoid pneumonia you'll find that the most common cause of this uncommon condition is inhalation of mineral oil, such as laxatives, then animal fats, and way down on the list is veggy oil like anise and mints. It is more common to fire eaters than any other demographic.

Is it safe? No. No flavorings are safe to inhale. Conduct yourself accordingly.

Me, I'm going to vape some blueberry muffin juice.

Thanks Hoosier, I know I've seen a few recipes over the years, just wondering if I had missed any other reason to not use them.
I know there are alot of vendors still using oils, and selling a ton of it. You use so little oil , I wouldn't think it could be to bad. I've been doing diy over 2 years,v and got a bunch of oils laying around. Figured I'll try and experiment.

I stay away from anise oil. The inhalation of the oil is a pretty good reason to stay away and I've found anise oil will cloud and crack a hard plastic tank. I believe I read somewhere not to use it unless you are using a glass or ceramic tank, etc. Glass or ceramic doesn't matter. If it's going to mess up your lungs, I'd try something else.

10. Lol. I guess I could dilute it.
I've had very few FA flavors that are good at their recommendation. Even the tobacco I used at 5%+

Whoa LOL That sounds like a good idea. The FA flavors take longer to steep than I thought. I mixed RY4 at 3%, and steeped it for a month. It has plenty of flavor for me.

Wow, my taste buds must be really shot. I tried FA anise at 8 drops + 2ml base (20% ?) steeped for about 3 days.

Wasn't the taste I was expecting but it is there. I was looking for more of the tongue numbing sensation. I tried 10 drops first but didn't steep so I guess I'll start all over again and be patient.

Jimi - did you steep with the cap off? And did you compliment it with other flavours?

Thanks!

Thanks Jimi!

I will try again with the anise.

I also have the licorice from them. Licorice tasted more of a spice and 'woody' - I'm really starting to believe that the 'licorice' people associate with black jelly beans is mostly anise (ok, the source may not be that credible but there are others :))

Anyways, thanks for the tips!!

YW! I need to order the licorice. A blend could be fantastic. Happy New Year :)

Wait, there is over-powering licorice out there? I gotta' know where this magical elixir can be obtained from!

I have to try it...

LOL.. I'm just not overly fond of Black Jelly Beans and Rope Licorice Twists. I do love the slightly more subtle taste of TFA Absinthe at 20% ! Go figure!
