I was in Hobby Lobby the other day and they had LorAnn's Tart and Sour Flavor Boost. I hadn't seen this before, so I couldn't resist picking up a bottle to see if it would come in handy.

I did a search for it, and I found several threads referring to it and some were going to try it but no one reported back with the info.

The ingredients are citric acid, water, malic acid, sodium citrate, so it seems vapable to me.

So, anybody tried this yet? I'm thinking of adding it to some fruity liquids

From the ingrediants list there, i have a sneaky suspicion that it, while certainly enhancing fruity flavors, will likely NOT be pleasant to have in your lungs. Ever got lemon/lime/orange juice in a cut? Imagine that in the raw tissue that is your lungs. Though, I could be completely wrong on this. Why not give it a shot JustMeAgain and let us know? If I am wrong, and really hope i am, then I would go out buy a few bottles. I would love to have some fruity flavors that actually tasted like the fruit instead of the overly sweet candy versions. Mmmm.... Sour Cherry.... /drool

Ok, I decided to be the guinea pig and tried it ~ I didn't detect any improvement in flavor but I didn't have any lemon juice in a cut feeling, either.

Vaporphreak, I was talking to a pharmacist I know awhile back and had asked him some questions about adding things to the liquid and one of them I remember asking about was a bit of lemon juice and he didn't think that would be a problem.

The label says to use 1 tsp/per pound to boost fruit flavor in candy and 1TBS/per pound to give a sour flavor. I wasn't sure how this translated to liquid, so I tried putting 15 drops of fruit flavored liquid and then added two drops. That didn't make a difference, so I did it again w/three drops, and still nothing.

I ran out of time to experiment further, but it says on the package that a little of this goes a long way, so I can't imagine that it would help to add much more.

Anybody have any suggestions about the ratio? I'd be willing to give it another round.

BTW, I was using a sample bottle of JC strawberry that I had laying around.

Thank you for giving it a try! Odd that a 1:5 ratio did virtually nothing if 1TBS:1lb makes things sour.... maybe the stuff that makes it sour are destroyed by the heat of the attomizer... or worse, maybe they didnt vaporize and is leaving some form of gunk on you atty that will be difficult to remove... I'd say maybe go one more try in a 1:3 ratio (5 drops in 15 of ejuice) and see what happens... if u still get nothing out of it, then at least you gave it a go... either way I'd keep an eye on that atty and see if acts up sooner than others or if somehow the acid in that stuff makes it stay cleaner (always possible) Anyway, thanks again for testing this!

I got the tart and sour flavor boost when i got some flavorings a few months back. I did add some to my mix---but being new to all this, I really could not tell any difference at that time.

Using it did not bother me at all.

I plan on using it again sometime later when I come across something i like so i can tell a difference, if any at all. Right now i am stuck on cinnamon and i don't think it would help any there. Still looking for a good fruity flavor. Tried apple, cherry (ok but not wonderful), butterscotch (wanted a bit more flavor --possible tester for it).

Hi, so I've been sitting on a bottle of this for about 2 months now. I saw this thread and said 'what the heck' and dropped 1 drop directly onto my poly. OK maybe that was a bit drastic... I was vaping mandarine and didn't think this stuff would hurt it. But it now tastes kind of foul. And, I don't know if it's me or not, but I also think it burns somehow as there is a funky smell in the vapor. I can taste the tart & sour on my lips as a result of me dripping onto the poly.

OK, so if someone does it the right way, by mixing let us know if it's any better

I just tried citric acid crystals-food grade...It takes a little more than you would expect to create a more sour flavor but it works!!!! It took some time to dissolve also....like over a few hours, shaking bottle on and off....or overnight. Since I'm using 8mg of nic in my mixtures I can't say if there is definitely more TH but it does add more dynamics to your flavor. Like a pinch for 5-7ml??? is maybe what I did. I first tried 1/4pinch and had only a very slight reduction in sweetness with no added tartness.

Sorry that I don't have better measurements but how do you measure such a small amount of crystals?? I don't care enough right now. Sorry. A pinch works for me!

ALSO Decadent Vapour has Sour Cherry flavoring which I would think would give you a TH even without the nic....and PA has Chai Tea which I JUST TRIED A MINUTE AGO and it would HAVE TO GIVE A TH cause it is full of spices and I must say is DELICIOUS!!!
