Sunday a friend of mine is picking me up and we're going to a memorial/celebration kinda thing. I haven't seen her or any of my other friends who'll be there for more than 2 years. They all (last I knew anyway) either smoke cigarettes or don't use tobacco (in general) or nicotine (specifically) at all. While I appreciated all the congratulatory back pats I got, especially after being able to say "I haven't smoked a cigarette for more than 5 years", the 'but you're still getting nicotine' mindset of the smoking bunch baffled me. I just can't wait to say the words, "Ya, but I'm just a recreational nicotine user" when someone says, "You're still using one of those things".
