HELP! I finally made it to the land of Ahhhhs, but now I'm lost.

The first good hit I got off of my 510 and I new I made it to the Land of Ahhhhs. Smooth, flavor, nic fix and far more than I ever dreamed.

But the harsh reality soon hit, and I realized that I'm no wiz at this. I really don't know anything about vappin' other than I love it,and hate my regular cigs now.

So now that I made my confessions,I'm asking you all for help.

So here goes(I know you knew this was comin').............how do I navigate through this land of ahhhhs without running into the flying monkeys and the wicked witch of the north.....ie; How do I start and keep good vappin'
goin' with my 510?

1. How muck juice do I put in my cartridge
2. How far down should the fiber in the cart be?(Is it ok for the fiber to touch the atty element,or should it be far enough away from it that it doesn't?
3.How long should I draw on my push button atty? My instuctions said no longer than 5 secs.
4.What's the best way to clean my atts?
My supplier said to boil them in water, blow them out and let dry overnight. I seen some of you use alcahol or peroxide.
5. When blowing out my attys, do I blow the direction on the draw,or the other direction,or both?
6.Are there any other tricks and tips that I need to know to reside here in the land of ahhhhs so I can live happily ever after?

thanks,

the Wizardofahhhhs1
(sure hope I don't have to change my name)

1. How muck juice do I put in my cartridge
i usually make sure the filler is moist and leave a little bubble of juice on top when i insert.

2. How far down should the fiber in the cart be?(Is it ok for the fiber to touch the atty element,or should it be far enough away from it that it doesn't?
i also have it flush. i do believe is it touching the element (also called a wick i think) it would be what wicks the juice into the atty.

3.How long should I draw on my push button atty? My instuctions said no longer than 5 secs.
i aways have my finger on the trigger while pulling. i think the 5 seconds is to help conserve battery life. i seen vids on youtube of people pulling a hell of a lot longer then i do and i product the same amount of vapor as them.

4.What's the best way to clean my atts?
My supplier said to boil them in water, blow them out and let dry overnight. I seen some of you use alcahol or peroxide.
i usually insert some toilet paper into the end where the cart goes and blow through the other end. thier are other ways but this is the simplest.

5. When blowing out my attys, do I blow the direction on the draw,or the other direction,or both?
refer to last answer

6.Are there any other tricks and tips that I need to know to reside here in the land of ahhhhs so I can live happily ever after?
change up your flavors and nic strength till you find one your happy with. order smaller bottle of juice like 3ml or 5ml. keep your battery charged so you dont have the urge to go to an analog. and most importantly enjoy and welcome to ECF!

You want to put juice into the cart until it looks slushy inside.

You want the cart filler to touch the bridge of the atty. That way the juice wicks into the atomizer

Pull as long as you want. Worst case scenario your atty gets too hot and the vapor tastes kinda off.

I rinse my attys, and blow them out. Then I soak them in isopropyl alcohol for a few hours, Then I rinse them again and blow them out again. From there I let them dry for about a day. They are like brand new when I do this.

Blow through the end that screws into the bat.

Make sure you have extra attys. Get a pt cause they are handy. And get lots of extra juice.

Im fairly new myself (about 5 months in) and Ill answer what I can and hopefully this helps a bit. Im sure the more veteran members can add what is neccesarry.

First let me start by saying that in the beggining youtube is your best friend! Videos make things so much easier when you can actually visually see what is being talked about. So spend sometime fishing on different ecig topics. There are alot of different vids for different subjects on there. Most of your questions can be answered through here.

I direct drip most of the time but have used and refilled cartridges alot also. The basic rule of thumb is to usually fill the cart till it has a slushy appearance on top of the filling NOT a pooling look to it. If this occurs just take off the excess with a q-tip/tissue etc. People use a toothpick/safety clip to romove air bubbles and get the best possible fill. This and 5 million other ways can be seen through many videos hehe.

As far as the fiber is concerned I have never had a problem when it makes contact with the atty (burning etc). Before I fill the filling I put the empty cart with the filling and place it on the atty im going to use. This way I know generally where the filling will be when it is used with that atty. This will give you a general idea when filling with liquid so as not to fill at the top and then have the atty push the filling down and generally have a flood on your hands :p

Hmm, well in my personal experience I like long draws usually about 8 seconds or so. I have personally never had an atty pop or die on me from doing this. Although experience may vary im sure. You will get used to what is comfortable for you through experience. Although the world will not end if you go over the 5 seconds lol. Just practice and see the results.

Once again you will read and can see all types of ways to clean your atty out. Some reccomended and many not hehe. Everyone will have there own personal opinion as to what is the best way. I gennerally am open to most of them with one rule. I clean them if absolutely needed. If the atty if working like a champ then no need to fix what isnt broken. As to leading into your next question blowing out your atty every once in a while is the standard way to clear your atty of excess and a good way to keep them working well. Blow into the threaded side.

As for tips and tricks well there are just so many mods/variations etc that people have come up with. Research and practice are what it comes down to. If you go under model specific then the 510 thread you will see a great topic (Everything I wanted to know about my 510) this may help you alot. Any vets wanna correct or add to what I have said please do so as I am still fairly new but believe I have given you honest tested info here.
Follow the Yellow Brick Road buddy and good luck to you :D
