I've got a ipv3 8w using a 18650 battery. Can't find my charger cable ane suspect I lost it while repacking my backpack in the city yesterday. Since its not a mini usb charger and I don't have any spare lying around I start to get anxious! It charges with a dc 5v jack cable. Can I buy just anyone and feel safe or is there any specifics I should know about?

What I've heard from all the veterans is to always charge removable batteries in a dedicated charger! Get a single bay charger & another battery & you should always have a charged battery! Just rember never to carry your spare in you're pocket unless it's in a case or sleeve like this one1

It is indeed better to charge with an external charger, but if you must charge within the mod there are a lot of compatible cables out there. The important thing is even though a cable will fit and look the same, it may not be. Some cables the center pin is the positive terminal, some it is the negative. I would google to determine which your mod uses, or look next to the charge port and see if it has a diagram showing you the polarity.

Yeah, did some research and decided to buy an external charger. Went with the Efest luc4. Works like a charm! :)
Decent choice. Grab a second battery and Rock on! :headbang:

I have 2 D2's and always rotate batteries. Most of my batteries have exceeded 18 months still performing excellent.(many mods/batteries)

For now they're in the small cardboard box, but I'll see if I find a container tomorrow :thumb:
Just please be sure you carry them around in your pocket or whatever in some kind of case or something! There was a video floating around a little while back that showed a battery venting in somebody's pocket because he was carrying it around loose with keys & change & stuff! Not implying you're stupid, just making sure you were thinking safely!:headbang:
