As the title states, I lost my sorry looking Gunmetal VAMO a few days ago. I didn't expect to be so tore up about it, but alas it seems as though a piece of me is gone. At least it was only a $30 special i suppose, but i expect i wouldn't be so bothered if it were a certain $150 mod (that shall remain nameless so as to not raise any hackles) that sits day after day unused in my desk drawer. I would probably have sacrificed any of my other PVs to save little ole gunny. It's not a large stable, but 15+ strong anyway. I never expected variable wattage to spoil me like it did, but now i find myself setting up my mechanical mods with extreme lr atties, and firing up the old LT cursing Ohms law.

In a few days I'll have another two VAMO's to keep me going. Stainless this time to avoid the finish issues of my beloved gunmetal. The $48 each shipped is a small price to pay, but i should have bought five of them from the start at around $32. Live and learn, everyone.

And to those wayward travelers out there. I wish you luck, hopefully one of you will find yourself along a back country road in the western coal fields of Kentucky and run across a heavily abused VAMO with more copper showing than Gunmetal and a fresh vivi nova with anodized whistle drip tip. Treat her well.

Sorry for your loss. I lost a little auto battery and for the life of me couldn't figure out how it disappeared out of the pcc. I had one GM VAMO to comfort me and a SS on the way so that helped. I'm enjoying my vamos and hopefully you'll be doing the same soon. Maybe attaching a lanyard to your new ones could be in order to secure them when your in the back country.
