So this is kinda funny. I just got my Silver Bullet and some atty's on Saturday. Didn't bring enough juice with me to my parent's when I was there and I quickly ran out and didn't get to fully enjoy the SB. So I came back to my apartment Sunday night because I have to teach nursing students on Monday (and do a little more talking than I'm used to). Vaped Sunday night, was fine Monday morning. Came home from teaching, no problems with my voice. Vaped some more (not any more than I did Sunday night), and by the evening I lost my voice. I did have a bit of a sore throat the past few mornings (and still do) but it never affected my voice. Just wondering if anyone else has lost their voice while vaping? I thought maybe the VG was doing it since I've been vaping mostly 80VG juice the past couple days. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience?

By the way, Silver Bullet = amazing. This is the device I've been needing but never knew about until recently.

My guess is that you're sick. There's been a nasty bug going around for the past month or so. I started getting sore throats at the exact time that I switched from direct dripping to using cartomizers, and right away, I was thinking, "Are cartomizers giving me a sore throat?" Within the next couple days, I was full blown sick, went to the doctor, and he said it was a virus. I'm still vaping like a chimney and I'm fine. I wouldn't worry about it, but the only other thing I can think of is: have you been getting enough fluids? I'm sure you already know that vaping can dry out our throats if we don't keep hydrated, but, of course, we can forget from time to time.

Yes, I do. I thought it was one of my juices that was a higher nicotine that caused it, but when I lowered the nic it still happened. That's the only juice I vape that has VG in it. Possibly from that.

BTW, I used to teach nursing students too!

i lost my voice when I quit smoking before I started vaping. The doctor said the vocal cords weren't closing completely and I couldn't even whisper. Apparently the vocal muscles I used when I was smoking were no longer being used the same way and that caused my problems. I finally went back to cigarettes and my voice came back. When I started vaping I had some problems but not as bad and it went away after a few weeks. I have a muscle disease though so maybe that's why.

I couldn't vape VG because of what it did to my throat. Go to PG.

Had to look that up! No such reference from me. Human voice is sonic vibrations, the more we talk, the more our throat gets scratchy, wetting the whistle as it were. :)

edit: oh great! I just looked up some alternative definitions of that.

Sorry it's a joke in my family. It's either giggity like quagmire from family guy or "that's what she said"

No prob. Yes, saw both and more definitions. My  was for 'wetting the whistle', in trying to explain 1st post, got into more muddy waters. It's hard to say anything right these days. :)

I have found I am allergic to some juices. flavourings. and once that stuff gets in an atty/carto etc I have to toss it out. any maltol does it and some I am not sure of yet. some juices take me a few hours before I start to notice and others it can happen right away. I wheeze, cough, my sinus' fill up, throat feels like drinking glass chips. and the longer I am vaping the more I find it happening; juices I used to vape I can't now. nowadays I am very picky about what I use and haven't had an issue for a while. I have a bunch of juice to give away because of this.

try a different carto/atty and different juice for a day and see.

I'm an actor and I recently quit analogs/started vaping during the run of a show, luckily this hasn't happened to me. I have an actor colleague who steered me towards vg based on his experience with pg affecting his voice/throat. I really think it comes down always having a drink with you. The only time I have had a scratchy voice was when chain vaping at the the bar and having a few beers, although it wasn't as bad as the half a pack of camels I would normally go through at the bar.
