Good evening, Beachers.....have not been ignoring you. I have been busy. Cleaned this morning....then son invited us to lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings in honor of Fathers' Day. Then we brought granddaughter home with us while they shopped. Then daughter called, then other son called with Fathers' Day wishes. Then it was time to fix dinner.

WHEW!! I am glad this day is over. A very busy weekend.

Hope you all had a great weekend....our weather was great both days, except for the 60 mph gusts we were having for a couple of hours this afternoon. And the forecasted storms did not happen.:)

Back reading until I get a "like", so I know someone is here.

I've been busy replying to CASSA's request.

This is what I added . . .

I am 59 years old and was an off-and-on smoker for 37 years (I quit 3 times). In my last efforts to quit smoking in November2012, I wasn’t able quit to, in spite of quitting 3 times before (including a period of 15 years until October 2008), because cigarettes had changed so much in that 15-year time. I tried an e-cigarette because of a consistent hack that had developed, trying them as an alternative to smoking - a replacement for conventional cigarettes - not as a way to wean off nicotine. My hack went away in 2 days from reduced smoking. I thought they were good in theory, but I wasn’t able to quit smoking with the njoy and 21st Century brands. I was only able to cut down to about half of my cigarette usage with them.

I tried another e-cig (an eGo Kit that came with tobacco flavors), and that was better. Then I started using 100% VG in that eGo Kit, but after finding better, refillable devices (namely a tank atomizer with a glass tube) and more appealing, non-tobacco flavors (namely Cinnamon Red Hots), I found that I was exclusively using the e-cigarette and no longer had the desire to smoke conventional cigarettes. In fact, the taste of conventional cigarettes was no longer appealing in any way, and the horrid smell of them is enough to keep me away from them now. I successfully quit smoking cigarettes with much better, high-quality e-cig devices and flavored 100% VG e-liquids about a year ago.

I know many former cigarette smokers with a similar story, who quit smoking with higher-quality e-cigs and a variety of flavors. FDA-approved nicotine cessation products cannot help people like myself, my family members, and friends who aren't even trying to quit or have given up trying, or were trying to quit but can’t quit with 21st Century, NJOY, or Blu (like me). E-cigarettes (many of which - like mine - are customizable for the needs and tastes of each user) were able to replace conventional cigarettes for me and them, and eliminate our exposure to toxic smoke - in spite of the fact that some of them weren't trying to quit smoking! I have suffered no ill effects from using an e-cigarette, and my doctors applauded me when I told them I was off of cigarettes with an e-cig. Today, my hack is gone, I can breathe better, I can taste food again, my energy is back, and I get sick less often.

If not for trying that first e-cigarette, and my subsequent tries with advanced e-cigarette technology and flavors (I don’t like tobacco flavors – I like candies and fruits), I am absolutely certain I would still be smoking today. I believe so strongly in the potential of these products to save the lives of millions of smokers, that I tell everyone I can about them.

I am so extremely disappointed in my government and its agencies for the actions being taken against the e-cigarette industry and e-cigarette consumers that it has even changed my political views and turned me into a tobacco harm reduction activist, by joining the Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association (CASAA).

I am also very disappointment in people like Senator Harkin, who keeps saying how e-cigs are being marketed to kids through the use of certain candy Flavors. While there may have been some misguided people who made TV commercials and Internet Ads and Games with things like Gummy Bears flavor (according to him – I haven’t seen them), flavors like Citrus, Strawberry, Cherry, Banana, Cinnamon Red Hots for me, and many other flavors that kids might be attracted to are highly used by adults who were able to quit smoking cigarettes with the use of these flavors, including Gummy Bears. It’s not like kids are the only ones who could like these flavors!!! So let’s get real about this, and do things to keep e-cigs out of the hands of our children and youth, but not take such drastic actions as to make the higher-quality e-cig device brands unavailable to the adults whose lives have been saved by them.

Scientific and Medical studies have now been done to show that there are no secondhand vapor issues to be concerned with. Dr. Konstantinos Farsalinos has done studies showing just how much safer they are than cigarettes. Other Doctors and Scientists have done other kinds of studies. While some of the chemicals that are found in cigarettes have been found in e-cig vapor, they are at much, much lower concentrations, so there’s no need for all the alarm. E-cigarettes are a much safer alternative to smoking! So why is there so much fuss? Accept the science as stated, fund more if you like, and stop either misquoting the science that’s available, or using old data that has been proven wrong. I implore you to look into it for yourself, and stop taking whatever FDA and CDC are feeding you.

LOL...talk about putting congress to sleep. :D They might stop any ecig legislation when done reading this....they will be too old to remember what the issue was. J/K, VG.:thumbs::thumbs: You get 6 thumbs up from me.

I feel like a stranger here....it has been so long since I have been able to post. And tomorrow I am going to go see my sister, and then we have dinner plans with a couple who want to discuss some insurance with hubs. That dinner can be tax deducted. :toast:

I wish my day had been a little less hectic....I could have used some R&R. :)
