I make scalloped oysters every Thanksgiving.....my family (except hubs) loves them. And you are right, Sun.....the oysters, butter, crackers, and half and half cost more than the rest of the meal put together. But sooooo worth it!
The family has a great recipe for that from the eastern shore of Maryland where my dad grew up. it must be 100 years old. We've used it for Christmas dinner several times. our traditional Christmas dinner is prime rib & fried oysters.
Well, if they were also x-ray eyes, as a teacher, you could find out if the dog really did eat their homework.
I could think of some great ways to use the x-ray vision, but I'm not going to get into it on ECF.

Went to bed and couldn't sleep. Tossed and turned for over an hour. Got up and piddled for a while and finally went back to bed. So I'm late getting here.

I don't like 'em, either. Raw or any other way. And I know because I've tried 'em. Many years after my first raw oyster, I decided to try an oyster poor boy, because the were fried. Still tasted just as nasty to me.thew: :gag: uke: More oysters for any of you who like 'em.

lol. no yorkie for the pepper. I think a jack Russell terrier is more of a match for my personality.
This is a Pepper wknd. Incredible fights last night and now 5 hours of live UFC on fox sports 1 tonight. Yay! You can watch it with the pepper starting at 7pm.
