It's storming out with heavy rain and lots of thunder nearby as the lightening follows it quickly, and the lightening is lighting up my windows. I went to the porch to see if I could watch the lightening and enjoy it for a while, but I've never had that kind of view in this house or neighborhood. The porch is not enclosed, so I get wet, and the way it's built doesn't allow for much of a view of the sky at all, and there are too many houses and trees around to see much of anything without going into the street. It's a fairly nice view otherwise, but I don't get to see the lightening.

I was in PetSmart getting litter, and I looked in the kitty cages. There was one precious 9-week baby and three 1-year olds. The next time around, I want a young baby again.

Good afternoon jj, Dale, and Glam! I see Pepper has left for the day.
Nothing much going on here today. Think I will do a quick clean and then lie out by the pool before the afternoon storms arrive. Seems like everyday now we get a big gullywasher. I'm feeling guilty and selfish today about not having babies to help the shelter out. It may be time to go get some.

I love lightning....although there was a piece on our morning news about all the people who have been struck this year by lightning.....indoors.

Oh yes. Besides not standing outside during a thunderstorm you should not sit by windows or sliding doors. We had a kid struck here (Jax) a few years ago through the slider. I'm sitting by a slider right now.

Our report this morning showed a kid who got struck while standing by a window, and a guy who got struck standing inside his garage with the garage door opened.

No pool today. It started raining right after I posted and hasn't stopped. So I took a hot bath and finished my book.
Son and DIL were running late so DH took over babysitting so I could get into the pool.

speaking of lightning. Florida is the capital of lightning strikes. 4 people have died this year from lightning strikes in florida... that matches the amount for entire U.S.
