Hey I found a site that says to use a soup can to flatten chicken breasts.....but I cannot get my link button above to work. So you will just have to take my word for it!

Does look like it does a good job.
The best thing that I;ve found is a hammer. One restricted to kitchen duty of course.

I'd never heard of it until I saw the pictures, but it would be a nice, heavy can for pounding meat.
