One of my best reading experiences was proof-reading for an author. This was a book that was written a long time ago by an established author back then, but this book was never accepted. We decided to pull it out, dust it off, and try again. It was very well written and quite captivating. All I did was mostly spelling and grammatical, and suggest some minor changes. I found things like favorite words that were overused, and suggested others that meant the same thing. But when it came to the ending, I was shocked. I told her that it couldn't end that way, and she rewrote the last of the last chapter. She still hasn't submitted it again, but it's pretty much ready for that, in both of our opinions. That was an adventure!
