School around here starts in August (late August, usually). September would be ideal as far as crowds go. Early October is when the leaves change and the crowds stampede in.
And rockers. Don't forget the rockers.
Rockers are a given.....no rockers, no cabin! We might end up meeting at a nursing home.

That cabin we rented last fall would be great! Amazing decks with rockers and a swing. Beautiful setting. And very secluded so we could make as much noise as we want
But, it was in NC so would not be as central. I am sure we could find something as good in TN
