Good Morning Beach. Babies fed a light, diluted milk. Moving toward a 6 hr feeding schedule now.

And finally, it's Friday!!! What a long week this has been. I just want to sleep, and sleep, and sleep! I did get about 4 - 4 1/2 hrs last night and feel much better.

Good Morning, Beachers......

Sun...happy you got some sleep, and hope you can catch some more this weekend. TGIF for you. :)

VG...thanks for the link....done! :)

Scott....that is one of the best letters I have read regarding the usage of e cigs and why the FDA should leave us vapers alone. A very sad, well written story. My heart went out to you the whole time I was reading it. Very well put!!:wub::wub: I wish everyone on this forum could read it, and pray that the FDA takes it to heart.

Well, today I am busy doing all the things that piled up in my absence....mainly this.

th

If you do not hear from me after a bit.....would someone please call 911 and ask somebody to come dig me out? 8-o :D

Well... here I thought I was being so 'swift' building that nifty 1.4 ohm dual coil for my shiney new vamo... apparently even though it's 1.4 ohms the vamo has a little trouble with that much of a dual coil and that's why the diminished vapor and lack of flavor. I pulled the second coil out and used the build as a single coil 2.6 ohm and it's vaping a lot better. I guess I'll have to save my fancy dual coils for the mech that's coming and a better battery (that VTC4 you pointed out VG). Live and learn... but it's nice now, although still not over the moon about the flavor this build is putting out, at tleast the vapor is strong again.

And now in itty-bitty print, so it's non-obtrusive, is my letter to the FDA, just in the nic-o-time (which is only one away from Nicotine :D)

To: FDA Center for Tobacco Products
RE: FDA, Docket No. FDA-2014-N-0189, Regulatory Information Number (RIN) 0910- AG38

I am writing this letter to voice vehement opposition to regulation of electronic cigarettes & the liquids necessary to utilize same. I am a direct consumer of e-cigarettes & any regulation of these products would effect me specifically.

I was a 2 1/2 pack a day smoker of 30 years with no intention of quitting.

Even as I kiss my dear Mom, God bless her, I make sure I don't step on her oxygen line. I go to bed each night making sure the oxygen is still on. She felt smoking was her very special pleasure. Until they wheeled in three big oxygen tanks. The memories of all the good times smoking paled in comparison to the reality of the necessity of oxygen. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Even though I watched my father die a terrible death of lung cancer. He was my best friend, my hero and dearest confidant. It is the greatest of tragedies to see a beautiful life fade away as you inhale the object of that death in between shifts of your vigil, knowing that you are destined to the same fate if you keep smoking tobacco. But you still smoke, puffing away to relieve the stress of watching a needlessly senseless death.

That is the power of that little tube of burning combustible tobacco leaf, laced with thousands of chemicals. It's always been there, though so the power of denial mutes these obvious facts of lethality. So you smoke, when you are joyful and when you are sad. After a great meal after an awful day. That little thing never lets you down, it's ALWAYS there for you. Even when you're choking and wheezing every morning, "So what,", you rationalize between coughs and hacks "those tough old cowboys did the same thing". There has been such a stigma from the early to mid 20th century about cigarettes, how cool they are, macho, sexy, dignified or a plethora of other adjectives we used for our justification mechanism.

Then one day I saw an article about e-cigs. Several days earlier a telemarketer called trying to give me a free introductory e-cig starter kit.I didn't impress me but the ad I saw in the magazine, well it looked "cool". Yes we are receptive to advertising, even as mature adults.

SoI looked into it. Fascinating.Even though further research of the type of cigarette in the ad proved that those cigarette-looking (cig-a-like) things were grossly inadequate, It was a door that, when opened, changed my life.

It's been nearly 3 years now. I "vape" on a large customized e-cigarette with e-liquid that I make, safely, from liquid nicotine, Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerin and natural flavors.

I exhale harmless vapor. Harmless for me & anyone around. No odor & no hazardous fumes as second-hand smoke does.

More importantly, I can breathe . I can smell & taste again. No more coughing jags or choking. My clothes don't stink & I don't stink. My lungs are completely healthy and the traces of COPD, though they were mild, do not threaten or restrict my life anymore. They are actually non-existent. My doctor thinks e-cigs are " a miracle".

Now I have absolute unrestricted freedom!

There was absolutely no adjustment of transition like nicotine patches, gum or psychoactive pharmaceuticals present as an unavoidable compromise to quit smoking.

As a long time smoker that is huge. The "psyching up" that occurs prior to trying quitting & then the blow to self esteem when it inevitably fails is double whammy.

That's my story.

I understand there is a threat to these things that saved my life (& millions of other's lives).

My question to you at the FDA is simply this:

Why do you want millions of us, dead?

Putting e-cigs out of reach is a death sentence to millions. Now & in the future generations to come.

Why will you sound our death knell under the guise of "it's for the children" or "our own good" ?

If you put E-cigarettes out of reach & restrictively regulated, we will, mostly go back to cigarettes.

And as I stated previously Nicotine patches, and gum are simply precursors to the failure mechanism that makes us just say"Oh forget it, none of that stuff works" and go back to inhaling death in the form of a cigarette.

I 'm told there is a concern regarding different flavors in e-cigarette liquid & the rationale is that this would make e-cigs appealing to those (read young people) that would not otherwise introduce nicotine into their system.

You realize that "the forbidden fruit is always perceived as the sweetest" especially to young people. Restriction, in this situation simply will not work. Remember "Prohibition?"& "War on Drugs"?

The hope is in education, accurate information regarding risks.

That's it.

A question;

Why do you want millions of us actually dead using the rationale that electronic cigarettes/liquids may, in theory, possibly cause addiction (but no physical harm) ; and if that's the logic, should I start hoarding coffee?

Bringing this forward in case someone may have missed it.

Is the dialysis working?

She's been on dialysis for about 11 years now. She was diagnosed with Type II diabetes 22 years ago, lost both legs and has had a quad bypass amongst many other things, oh, and is legally blind as well. She takes her insulin and goes to dialysis but she is not good about eating properly!!!! I try, I've even offered to come over and make her some nice diabetic friendly meals (good recipes) but when I do, she says oh that's nice, but I don't like that (whatever I suggest each time) can you bring a pizza??? smh... Hubby is also a diabetic, when first diagnosed he had to take insulin, but has worked hard to get off of them since they can do almost as much damage to kidneys and liver etc as the disease does to the body... he is totally diet controlled now for more than 8 years. He goes to the doctor every 3 months for the tests to be sure he is staying on track, and it is sucessful. both of us sure wish his sister had taken it all more seriously from the start, but she just doesn't. So, she spends 6 hours a day, 3 days a week in dailysis.
