Did she move to North Carolina after all, and she's living with Tink in the spare room? And that's why Tink can't do Couch Yoga in there? C'mon Tink. I've got it all figured out. You can fess up now.

Dang VG, you are just too smart for us!! :?:  No, if she stayed in my guest room she would get peed on by a cat

I wish she would move to NC! That would be cool! :thumb:

When phone numbers first started being available online, I think I used Switchboard for that. But I never try to use the same one twice now. I go through a few in a Google Search until I find a free one. Some of them list multiple names now, and you have to guess which one might be right.

I could tell by the age, and the list of people associated with them that I had the right person. I went to about 7 or 8 sites, and none of them gave me a phone number....but maybe if there is no land line, they do not have the info.

I always hope my cell phone number never makes a list!

That's true. A lot of people don't have a landline anymore, getting everything on the cell. I don't think there is a site that will give up cell numbers. At least not yet, and maybe never.

Me too!!! We are seriously considering getting rid of our land line because of all the solicitations we get (and we are on the Do Not Call list) :grr: It is particularly irritating since I am trying to sleep during the day when they call. If our alarm system were not tied to the land line, it would be gone already!

I guess you could just disconnect all the phones and only let it be used for the alarm... no incoming calls that way.

I hear you....we are on the do not call list too, and I get anywhere from 5 to 7 calls a day. I never answer the solicitors because of caller i.d., but it is a pain to be doing something and being interrupted just to run to the phone to ignore it.

Our number is too and we get them all the time. Irritates the crap out of me.

Nothing is ever done if they ignore the Do Not Call list so many are ignoring it.

Don't you have to report every single one tho'?
Seems like that alone would drive you nuts

That is an option. Could turn off all the ringers and let the answering machine get the calls (in case anybody called that I needed/wanted to hear from). However, it would be nice to save that ~$65/mo if we could get rid of the land line all together.

We don't keep a phone in the bedroom because the junk calls. This is bad if there is an emergency.

Edit. The kids know to call our cells at night if they need us.
