Long day but I did get a nap in while GD napped.

The brother that was going down to AZ with me is getting out of the hospital today. He had to have surgery and now got about 6 weeks recovery time ahead of him.

On the exciting front, my niece parachuted out of a plane today. Her first time!!!

Niece is very adventurous. Single right now so letting those wings fly. She was attached to someone who knew what they were doing...... I hope. Still waiting to hear if she made it down okay.

Another 6 weeks! 8-o I hope he heals quickly and perfectly.

I'd love to parachute out of a plane. I used to want to do it more than now, but I still know I'd enjoy it.

They could attach a Zip Line to the plane for you.

They don't let you go by yourself at first. You need to have a few jumps before they'll even consider it. These people are generally very good, so you shouldn't worry.

I used to be totally fearless (and senseless! ). Now that I'm getting a bit older and more aware of human fragility, I worry about the landing a bit. But the jump and ride down would be akin to riding a motorcycle, to me. A feeling of Freedom.

I did not want to join, but been there and done that. I joined the Navy to keep from being drafted into the Army during Viet Nam.

Now that is something I never wanted to do. A friend of mine did and I went along with her when she signed up. Guy kept trying to talk me into and I keep saying NO.

I didn't get the job I wanted because of my hearing problem. I wanted to be a Aviation Electronics Mate, but they said I couldn't hear the Sonar Bleeps, so I was given Aviation Electrician's Mate. They normally work on batteries, light bulbs, and wiring, etc. on an aircraft, but I still got to work in electronics. I worked on a Computer Navigation System for the aircraft.

I was lucky and didn't have to go on a Aircraft Carrier. The plane I worked on didn't have a tail hook. It was a Search and Rescue plane that also did Antisubmarine Warfare. They dropped sonobouys to find them and reported their positions. This is the aircraft . . .
