Yeah, according to most information the vamo v5 is only rms, but thanks to a pbusardo video I found out that it is both and it comes set to 'mean'/avg, so I changed it to rms.
Thanks for the 'mech' test. That's interesting to know.
Since a Mech uses a battery with no electronics, what goes to the 510 and atty is whatever battery voltage level that battery is charged to. 4.2V is Max. The difference is that the Vamo will send a PWM Voltage (Pulse-Width Modulation - an electronics trick) where the Battery's Voltage in a Mech is straight DC. But it will be a fairly good way to see.
Of course, you have to make a build of Ohms that the Vamo can handle. The Mech won't care, and you just have to use safe IMR batteries in it. I think you said you bought the Sony VTC4 30 Amp. That will be just fine.
