We never took pictures at the drive in.
Too busy sneaking people in by putting them in the trunk!

They let you get in with your own goodies? I worked a drive in back in 1972 and 73, and there were people who checked for that kind of stuff, and checked for more people in vehicles than were paid for. They make most of their money from the concession stand, or they did back then.

They didn't do that here..........at least when I went.

I just checked and yes, the drive-ins now offer sound through your F.M. radio. Gone are those cords which you had to duck under to walk between cars when you were going to the snack bar. Big part of my childhood......gone!!![]()

They were a lot of fun. Took DD to one in Bloomington before it closed.
She loved the loading up the car with goodies to go.

Is that you, your parents, and siblings?

Now they are asking you not to bring in food....guess they are really hurting and need the snack bar money to help support the operation. I do understand that. However, movie theater seats are a lot better than they used to be so I am not very nostalgic about the drive-in. Hubs' father owned the dime store where the local drive-in is, and he got free tickets every week for putting their flyer in the window. So hubs went to the drive-in every week when he was in high school. He has got some good tales from that era.![]()
No, brother is a photographer. Was a family that paid to have pics taken.
Must dash.... 17yo with stab wound to chest![]()

They had a concession stand but we took our own stuff. Bags of munchies and cooler full of drinks.

But the sound will be so much better, and they won't keep having speakers ripped off the poles.
Wow. Very generous of them.![]()
DD would have been around 10 the last time that I was there so that was a few years ago. From the sounds of it, I'd never get by with it now.
