Love my Sony US18650VTC5's but I'd like just a little bit more mAh

Setup: Sigelei 20W nautilus 1.4 Ohm coil rebuilds & Hcigar Kayfun 3.1 1.2 Ohm build.

I purchased 2 X Sony US18650VTC5's on Baditudes recommendation because I wanted a great all around battery that could handle the Sig, any other 18650 mods I may end up with and have the amps to be safe with sub ohm'ing if I ever wanted to give it a try. I have to say, it has been dead on for my needs.

When using my nautilus a VTC5 will last me the entire day with a little room to spare but if I'm vaping on the Kayfun falls just short. Is there a 2900-3200 mAh version of this battery available out there?

The following Panasonic or Orbtronic batteries will provide you with 2900 mAh. They are only 10 amp continuous though. That should easily be enough amps for your 1.2 ohm Kayfun. For sub-ohm, use your Ohm's Law Calculator to be certain you don't go over the 10 amp limit of these batteries.

NCR18650PF (LiNiCOMnO2) 2900mAh 10A
NCR18650PD (LiNiCoAl) 2900mAh 10A

FYI: The Panasonic/Orbtronic NCR18650A 3100mAh and NCR18650B 3400mAh batteries are NOT high drain and only have a 6.8 amp limit. I do not recommend these for a regulated mod or for sub ohms RBA's.

IIRC, which I probably don't, the pannys mah rating was based on a lower minimum voltage than Sony or AW. The extra capacity isn't really "real" because the mod will probably shut off before you reach the battery's allowable minimum voltage.
Some chemistries of li-ion batteries have a short break in time where they will actually pick up a little capacity after a few discharge/charge cycles, not sure if that is the case with the VTCs

20 watts (the sigeleis limit) @ 3.5V (voltage cutoff whereabouts) = 5.7 amps

on a 10 amp battery that will cause a decent voltage drop. i highly doubt that 11% more capacity is going to overcome the significant difference in cell IR.

with the sony's voltage staying power, i suspect there's not going to be anything on the market that gives you a noticeable gain in usable capacity per charge.
