My first cig-a-like was the metro menthol that i got from a kangaroo gas station it worked pretty well it gave some good vapor production throat hit and flavor and all you do is keep buying prefilled cartomizers for it. At my vape pace it would last me a good whole day when it came to the battery life. If you have heard of the blu e-cigs you should probably stay away from those. The tobacco taste more like a burnt coffee and the java jolt tastes burnt and just a whole bunch of badess is in that one in my opinion. But anyways the metro ecigs are a bit thicker than the blus and i think just a bit taller than them as well. Overall in my opinion those were awesome. I would also look into the finiti brand e-cig its very light and the carotmizers are those soft tips so you can bite on them and vape hands free which is awesome imo :) Those are the two that i would suggest. The metro came out to $21 with two cartomizers and a usb charger and the prefilled cartomizers are about $10 for either a 3 or 5 pack not sure which one. The finiti on the other hand i believe is $40 at walgreens for a very awesome premium kit not exactly sure what comes with it but im thinking somewhere around 2 auto batteries some cartomizers, a charger. Lots of goodies. When i first tried the finiti i was impressed! The tobacco flavor actually came the closest i've tried to a real cigarette tobacco on the exhale so that's a plus if your into that kinda flavor but flavor is subjective as we all know :) But yea that's my two cents. Hope it helped you out! Happy vaping!!

Excellent! I'm going to do some shopping and I'll post what I come up with. Stage 1 (off of cigarettes and hooked onto ecig) is basically done (thanks to the NJOY kings). Now if I can get a relatively cheap way to keep it up (seeing as how I love smoking, or vaping) I'll be all set. My sense of smell is coming back and the wife loves the fact that I don't smell anymore.

Thanks again!

Another thing to think about is manual vs auto battery. I started with an Njoy rechargable I got at my local Walgreens drug store. I also purchased a Finity "kit" with 2 batteries, some cartomizers and a PCC (personal charging case so I could charge one battery on the fly while vaping with the other, once a day I recharged the PCC). All these batteries were automatic; you puff it charges the cartomizer. My first kit(s) were a mega 510 automatic, 2 batteries, cartos, PCC charger from Liberty Flights and an ego variable volt 1100 mah manual with CE4s, etc etc from Discount Vapers. I am very pleased with both and use both daily, but the auto batteries I get paranoid I am going to overfill my carto and kill the battery. I did that with my original Njoy. Still have the Finity but it is for backup purposes only, not much vapor or hit, but it got me off the nasties!! The manual button really becomes second nature, and manual is so much more versatile.

Sounds like you are getting the hang of it, this is how I picked my first kits. Help and input from this forum. You will get great advise and suggestions. Not everything works for everyone, but these people are THE BEST!!

Can't help you with the tobacco juice. Still looking for my fave tobacco vape but I don't like menthol. Have lots of wonderful non tobacco flavors though!!!

Keep an open mind, ask questions and Good luck. Major congrats on giving up the nasties. Keep up the good work!

Just my humble experience, lots more experience here..

shop around, all sites listed under Forum Suppliers are trusted places, shop around, price varys, also name brand vs no brand (generic)

also those egos we talked about are not auto, you push a button to make the vapor, will take a few pulls to get used to, most have 5 click safety so it wont fire in your pocket

you can vape very cheap - as long as you dont make it into a hobby ;)

and when you buy your eliquid, try at least one non-tobacco flavor, you might be surprised

Just my :2c: but don't get locked into thinking you have to get a flavor just like your Newports, or whatever brand you smoked before switching, I don't know how much money I wasted trying to find a replacement for my cowboy killers. None of the tobacco flavors comes close to a real burning ash factory, not that there aren't some decent flavors, just not quite the same.

Never thought I'd say it but I like the fruit flavors, and a lot of the sours, just starting to sample some coffee and bakery flavors, you'll be amazed at what you can find and how satisfying different flavors can be.

Not bad, but I would suggest you get at least one VV (variable voltage) eGo battery. Check out this kit.
Joyetech eGo-C Twist 650mAh Starter Kit - VaporFusion
It only has one battery but you can easily add another one a-la-carte. The charger and Kangers would work for both batteries. 650mah will probably last most the day. A battery is generally designed to last around 300 charge cycles (so about a year). The additional batteries are around 20 bucks.

I smoked for 25 years, quit in Jan 2012 and have been vaping ever since. I started with a Blu disposable tobacco flavor. I smoked Marb reds, so i liked the kick i got from the Blu. I bought a few disposables then ventured into Walgreens and bought the Blu Starter Kit for $50. After 1 hr of use the cartridge would loose flavor and I would go through two batteries in the process. Charge, vape, charge more, get less vape. I was on the road back to real cigs, Blu wasnt cutting it..

Then i found a local brick and mortar store sold the Cig2o starter kit, and had a full line of cartridges. I liked the idea of it being local to buy and not online. Well for about 10 months of (2)five packs a week of cartridges - $30 and 3 Blu disposables a week(still love the flavor) - another $30 it just seemed to be too much money for what i was getting. I liked the Cig2o's, I thought. They satisfied my urge to smoke, so they worked for about a year.

Without even doing research online, which is weird, I saw another local brick and mortar store offering some fancy juice vaporizers. I stopped in, tried out a EGO with some of their china juice and i was sold. I actually bought a KGO 1100mAH starter kit for $59.00

One month of China juice and the search was on for some home brew USA juice, and their are a lot of them. Now I'm addicted to searching this awesome forum, looking for new vape toys online and the ever present quest for awesome juice. I took me a year of vaping the wrong way to really discover the right way, but no real cigs for 15 months.

Here are a few places that made things easy for me once i knew what i was doing.
Juice:
Mt Baker Vapor - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes, USA made E Juice, and Accessories
Johnson Creek (they make Blu's juice) - Johnson Creek Smoke Juice - America's Smoke Juice! Johnson Creek Smoke Juice
Vaperite - https://www.vaperite.com/

Hardware:
All three above are good prices on hardware also but here are a few more!
Hoosier Ecig - E-cig Kits
Atomic Vapors - Starter Kits
MadVapes - E-Cigs and Kits

Taste is obviously going to vary from person to person but those three companies are my favorite, and wish i had found them earlier. When it comes to hardware I wish i used those three vendors before i spent to much at a local joint. Do your research, like your doing now and you will find the sweet spot in your vaping experience.

Both the kits you posted would work for just fine for me, this one will be longer (about 8" total) where the 650mah kit you posted would be closer to 6" long. 900mah would surely last you all day and that kit is voltage adjustable so you can adjust the heat the heating coil puts out.

I might pick up a few extra clearomizer tanks for it if you go that way, those look like disposable clearomizers while the 650mah kit you posted you can just screw the clearomizer apart, rinse it out, and change out the little atomizer head inside of it and buy 5 packs of those heads cheaper but the price isn't that much different for a disposable clearo and replacement atomizer heads..

Right now I have basically the same stuff here, the only issue I have had is some juice flavorings like to break down the plastic of the tank, for me it was lemonade flavor I believe.

Wow, that's a lot of NJOYs. I agree they're good, but it only took me 6 before I realized they was economically unfeasible. Someone suggested EGO's and clearomizers and I second that suggestion. You can keep it small and efficient and start saving dough right away. I've really enjoyed using Kanger T2 clearomizers. I personally feel cartomizers are too much trouble. They're cheap, but human nature takes over anyway, and you find yourself trying to extend their working life by a variety of means that can be found on YOU TUBE. Have you been looking on YOU TUBE, it's a terrific place to find out information, see reviews, etc.?
