Alright guys screw it, ordering the evod kit and some juice from MT baker.
I thank you a lot on steering me in the right direction and saving me some money!

How long do you think a 50ML bottle of e liquid would last me if I used to smoke 1-2 packs a day?
And how long do you think the clearomizers (are they the same thing as atomitizers?) last until they need to be replaced or a new head?

Man can't wait, I can taste that mt baker green candy apple rings vapor on the wind already! :D

50ml will last you anything from 5 days up to 10 days, depending on how you go with it. Get a couple of different flavours in high strength nicotine because you don't want to get stuck with only a flavour that you discover you don't really like. Are you getting the Evod kit from Discount Vapers? It's fixed voltage at 3.4 volts and comes with 2.8 ohm heads. This is safe, but won't produce as much vapour as a lower resistance coil. You could get packet of these as well if you want:
Kanger eVod/Protank Coil Replacement **5 pack - 1.8 ohms

A head will last maybe 1 or two weeks if you are lucky, but if you burn it then you should just replace it if it stops working nicely. Factors that will affect how long the heads last include the e-liquid you use, how much you vape, and avoiding burning the coil with dry hits or similar. All of this will become more clear to you once you have the kit and are using it.

Good Luck!

Just placed my order for the evod kit.
Then for my Mt. Baker order I decided to do a little more research and many people recommend the butterscotch flavor, and I'm definitely a fan of butterscotch, got the 50ml bottle and added an extra flavor shot.

Boy am I excited can't wait, hope the butterscotch flavor won't crack my tank. :mail:

I really hope you like the butterscotch :) I got some, smelled really great, but for some reason I can't taste it. I know it's not the juice because others tasted it and loved it, my jacked up taste buds just don't register their butterscotch for some reason.

i really like Mt. Baker good people, good juice, fast shipping! but like susiejo said make sure you check for tank cracker juices. Mt. baker usually has it noted after their description of the flavor if it will crack the tank! dangit now i need to look at the MBV site and re order!! lol

I usually recommend the Fasttech $20 Evod kit (with a 2 week shipping warning) as it is simple and cheap to anyone wanting to test out a non cig-a-like.
https://www.fasttech.com/products/1368506

I agree with Ocelot and think that many people here are more interested in telling others what they use than listening to what the person is actually asking for.

If someone says they are non technical advising them to build their own Mod out of household items isn't a lot of use.

Telling someone who has said they are poor to get a Provari is not helpful.

If someone wants a discrete cig-a-like for work then telling them to get a Vamo is not good advice.

Do you know if there are any vape shops near where you live? If so, I would recommend you visit it because most vape shops will let you try their juices and you'd have a better idea of what flavors you will like. You might like some that you wouldn't think you'd like and you might not like some you thought you would.

I have a smoke shop but I don't think they do that kind of thing or if they even have vape juices.
I am not too fussy, the njoy king I tried the other day was a menthol and I liked it and I don't even like menthol cigarettes, and the kit my mom got was an njoy with almost no flavor and I didn't mind that. The most important thing is just getting off those cigarettes so I can start to feel healthier again and saving money.

Totally agree and you have a valid point. I am sometime guilty of recommending gear beyond a budget and should be more sensitive, I admit. And it does take what it takes to get started, and often at lower budgets than what may be required to beat the smoking monster. I, too, hear many stories though of the cig-a-likes that don't work, and the frustration that noobs feel when they invest their money, only to discover a week or two later that they did buy something that they want to replace. Sometimes I hear the familiar, "Get a Vamo" to the newcomer, and that drives me nuts. So, seriously, should we recommend, for example, a cig-a-like, or a one battery setup to start, when we know that it's inadequate. If that is what we should do, and if that is the most sensitive thing to do, then I'll change my recommendations right now. The thing I want for the beginner is to beat the smoking monster. For me it was tough, and took some serious gear. Inferior gear in 2009, and again in 2011, kept me smoking. Enter 2013, everything you could possibly dream of. If it's confusing to me how best to respond to the newcomer, just think how difficult it must be for the first time vaper, who just posted their first post. It's a quandary. I know this is off topic, but I'd really like to know what is best for us to do in this situation. Your so-called rant looked an awful lot like common sense to me, btw. Keep it coming.

I just got my kit today an itaste vv/vw v3 5 kanger Evod tanks(really want to get something else for some variety too) and ~13 samples of juice (2 samples from fuzion and 1 from halo) currently i just have some of ivape's RY4 to vape until tomorrow and im glad i enjoy it (little butterscotch/caramel inhale with slight tobacco exhale) anyways, being a newbie myself, i do believe that recommending decent middle ground set ups is very important as well as pointing people to youtube and informational sources so they understand how e cigs work (like diy replacement of coil/wick) i would say just start with 1 battery though just mention a back up may be necessary in the future

i spent ~140 bucks to start and got ~100-120ml of e liquid in 13 varieties and even if i dont stick with it its just 140bucks....thats 1 month of cigs, 1 day at kobes/restaurant, 2-3 nights at the bar or in my case 1 bad game of pool. as soon as i discovered flavored eliquids I already knew id be able to switch to vapeing instantly as I LOVE flavored hookah and dont care for, nor taste, analogs(thus my sever obsession with menthol) IN FACT i think that is a very good question to ask a newbie do you like flavored Tobacco/hookah.....if thats a yes id go straight for a vv/vw set up and toss out the cig-alike advice as thats a good sign they are going to stay.

so my main point is if someone isnt willing to have a $100-$200 budget (thats for mod, tanks and e liquid mind you) to try something new they are already thinking negatively and a negative experience will be the most likely outcome. save the funds up for something decent and educate yourself while your saving.

heres a pic of my current set up - my 13 samples =p (o and that detailed pic of the ego twist was very informative imo)

Note: i've only been a smoker 2-3 years currently a PAD but i am a very social smoker so my addiction and opinions would not apply to someone of your caliber (3 pad + decades more time)
something similar to my set up would be appropriate imo then let the habit evolve on its own

edit:kanger evod tanks (in pic) wont crack with citrus/cinnamon e juices ~6 bucks a piece

I started with V2 cigs and just upgraded. I just began vaping at the end of March. I liked them, don't get me wrong, but very quickly I wanted something better, more versitile, and longer lasting. I began my search for something better and that is what landed me here in the first place. If I could start over again I would skip the cigarette size e cigarettes and at least start with an ego. I decided to get a Vamo V3, an X6 (which is something like a ego twist knock off of sorts from what I gather), and a couple of little 650mAH ego's for around town when I don't want something big to carry. I just got the Vamo and X6 (which I ordered from Fasttech) and I am really happy so far.

Congrats on joining the vaping club, also on your choice of kit. Even though it's not variable voltage, I don't think you'll be disappointed in it. Furthermore, your choice of juice vender is also pretty good - MBV juices got me off cigs for the first month of serious vaping and with little or no effort on my part. (Before vaping, I had never been able to stop for more than a couple days even with using nic gums.) I had a pack and a half habit for over 40 years. I actually had to force myself to continue to smoke cigs up to my self appointed deadline of my B-day.

You've gotten a lot of good info in the last couple days posting here and it's gonna take some time to assimilate it all. Hang in there! It does get easier.

I was going to suggest this kit for you, which is quite similar to the one you ordered except for the fact it has top coil style clearomizer instead of the bottom coil of the Evod. If I had seen your post sooner, you could have gotten your kit and juice at the same site and saved some $$ on postage. Heather's Heavenly Vapes has some excellent juices, IMO, especially their line of Naturally Extracted Tobaccos (NET) e-juice. These juices are what drove the final nail in the analogue coffin for me.
HHV eGo 1100mah Starter Kit - $40.99 : Heathers Heavenly Vapes, Top Quality Custom E-Liquids

As for how long 50ml of juice last, that depends on how much you vape and the device you use. On average, I vape around 3-5ml a day, probably closer to the 5ml end using a similar setup - so that would equate to around 10 days per 50ml. As others have said, I would start out with smaller bottles to find out which flavors really turn you on, then stock up on larger bottles of your favs.

Good luck with your vaping. :toast:

EDIT: PS, MBV Green Apple is quite good, as well as their cinnamon Hot Tamale, if you like cinnamon this one is spot on to the candy of the same name. Caution: it does cause havoc with some tubes and attys. Best to have a dedicated glass device for this juice. (i.e. Kanger Protank)

Hiya! I went through what you are experiencing a little over a week ago. Check my signature, lol.

I went with 2 1000mAh eGo twist batteries, a mini vivi nova tank, a protank (glass-for problematic juices), and some regular 510 style dripping atomizers.

Your setup will be very similar in function and performance.

I also ordered from mtbaker. I was impressed with their service (I talked to them on phone before ordering) and fast shipping.

I got their butterscotch flavor as well. It was ok straight out of the mail but is getting more flavorful with a little aging (steeping). I would also recommend their cinnamon roll, and dark chocolate flavors.

I was a 15+ year, pack a day smoker so I started with 24mg juice. I actually found it to be too strong because after only 3 or 4 "hits" I would be at a good nicotine level but still wanted to continue vaping, trying to approximate the amount of time an analog cig would last.

I have since settled on 18 mg for my all day flavor and 12mg for "dessert" flavors so I can vape longer without getting too dizzy, lol.

I think you've made some wise choices. The only other advice I could give you would be to watch some YouTube vids to learn about nomenclature, gear, steeping, and especially cleaning your atomizer heads for maximum longevity.

Good luck! Keep us up to date on your progress.

That brings up a whole 'nuther question. Does the number of years as a smoker make any real difference, or is there some level of dependency that is arrived at after a certain amount of consumption? Not a useful question, but having smoked for something over five decades, it is interesting to me.

Well there would certainly be a difference between smoking for one or two years and smoking heavily for fifty. When I was at school and had been smoking for about a year, I was in a situation where I did not smoke for 3 months. I missed it, but it was not such a hardship. "That was easy" I told myself, "I can give up whenever I want". Even though I'd thrown off the addiction I did have, I wanted to smoke. Stupid me, that was nearly 35 years ago.

So yes, there's a difference in the degree of addiction. The problem is we are all different and there's no way to quantify it.

I am a newbie too. I began when I had to visit a friend a month or so ago and purchased the NJOY. It held me over for the week I was away, however when I got home I purchased the V2 starter kit and I liked it. Haven't began with all the different sizes and voltages yet. I have purchased e-juices and refilled my cartomizers. I am taking it slow and not getting into the "heavy duty" stuff yet. Although I know I will. I already want another one and move to the next level of vaping. Most I found are refillable. Just start and enjoy vaping, i sure do.

Nic addiction is fast just like a caffeine addiction. But the benefit of vaping will be noticed withen 2-3 days ( personally) but the tar and chem detox can take , if I'm not mistaken, between 2-6years depending on how long and how seriously you smoked
