Finally got my 30g kanthal, I've been rebuilding my mini protank 2 coil heads for a few days now, and I've got quite a bit better, I just made a 1.2ohm perfect micro coil in about 5 minutes, which is counting the time to wick and get her burning :D I love rebuilding, I think I finally found my new hobby :)

How many wraps did you do? I am used to wrapping my Kayfuns with 28 guage and when I started playing with the Protank I got some 32 gauge. I hate it...way too flimsy. I ordered some 30 gauge but just wonder how many wraps to get around 1.5 to 1.6?

I was using a precision screwdriver set and used the 2mm flathead, used 6 wraps with the 30g and it came out to be just under 1.5ohms at 1.46ohms on my multimeter. Now that I have my kayfun lite it's definitely easier and I love rebuilding even more so now :D

EDIT: I realized I was asked about the 1.2ohm coil head I made, it was using a 1mm screwdriver and was around 8-10 wraps, I can't remember for sure, I've been building a lot of coils with my new kayfun so everything is starting to mix together lol, I do remember it BARELY fit in the mini protank 2 coil head though.

EDIT 2: Scratch that, Just took the old coil head apart, it was a 2mm screwdriver I used and was 5 wraps for the 1.2ohm coil, was a snug fit though, I really don't like rebuilding the coil heads, compared to rebuilding on a deck now. SO many possibilities, and so many variations that it's just fun to try them all to see what works best for you :)

I started a few weeks ago, it's a lot of fun. And you can get a good vape with a mini that way. I started at 1.8 ohms, but when I accidentally made one at 1.2 it was really good so that's what I use now.

Lightning Vapes sell bags of replacement insulators. You can reuse them but they don't last forever. I killed several by clipping bits off the side when I was cutting the wire ends with nail clippers. A couple more the bottom rim tore off when I was pulling them out.

LV also sell complete replacement heads in packs of 10, pretty cheap. I haven't got any yet, they come disassembled and include everything except for the coil and wick.

I got a Lemo for Christmas but I'm still using the coil it came with.
