I did not try a lot of vendors before I started making my own. There was one whose juice was all good, but the others I didn't care for at all. I don't think I could have stuck with vaping if those not-good ones were all I knew of.

Some of my home made is not so good, but the good ones are as good or better than anything else I've tried. The learning curve for me was not so much how-to or who had the flavors I liked best, it has been figuring out what kind of flavors I like, if that makes any sense. I thought I'd like fruits and candies and all that stuff. But I always go right back to the bakery.

Also, I'm a cheapskate so I love that I can have as much as I want for so little cost. I can tailor my juice to my whims too.

I also began DIY soon after starting vaping because of the volume of vender juices I purchased that I didn't like. I dont think I would have stayed with it if I had not found DIY. Causes me to wonder how many vapers we have lost to poor juice.
