I quit smoking analogs on Feb 1st of this year due to health issues and lifestyle (scary trip to the ER). My son brought me my first e-cig to use while in the hospital so I wouldn't be "a bad patient" and stroll back an forth out of the hospital. Needless to say, while hospitalized, I was diagnosed with emphysema and was having what is known as V-Tac due to lifestyle, stress with work, not eating right and running on little sleep and loads of caffeine from coffee and Mtn. Dew. I had my first REAL awakening that the ongoing abuse to myself had began taking its toll. At 43 years old, I should be in this condition, however, on Feb. 1st i smoked my last cigarette, dropped the caffeinated drinks (except for the limit of one cup of coffee in the mornings).

I have since purchased many different brands and flavors of e-cigs in search of my fix, but every time I think I find what I like, it doesn't last as I still find my taste buds changing after smoking for 25 years. As my taste buds have began planing off to normal, I have found some great flavors that my senses have been awakened too, which in turn as brought out the desire to expand my knowledge of the vaping world. Cartomizers, tanks, batteries, upgrades, mods, personal mixes of e-juice, etc... can be overwhelming; but FUN as hell while getting my little fix. In the last five months and six days, vaping has now become a hobby, and my health has been turning around for the better.

Enough rambling, I've accepted this new lifestyle with arms wide open!:vapor:

That's an eyeopener for sure but you took the right steps to correct your health issues. Congrats to you for that. As for flavors, that's always the hard one. You might look into DIY as soon as you can post outside the newbie section. It's fun and doesn't cost a fortune if you hate what you make versus what you buy. Keep up the good work.

Welcome to the forum, Bambam, and thank you for your inspiring story! (Love your avatar!)

I think finding the "right" juices is the hardest part of being a new vaper, because there are so many flavors to choose from, and because your taste buds are going through a transformation and everything is probably going to taste different as those little buds awaken! (Keep all your juices! Don't give up on them, even if you don't like them now. Let them sit, go back to them from time to time. Some improve with age, and some will taste good after a while because your taste has changed... Also, they're good to have in a juice emergency...)

Vape happy!

Thanks for your input guys!

I originally was using cheap disposable e-cigs for the first few weeks trying to find the right brand to suite my needs, I like the throat hit from some, but the flavor sucked, then the ones with less hit had decent flavor. After trying a couple of other brands, my wife and daughter kept telling me I stink and smelt like moth balls; which of course was making me mad as hell as I was somewhat detoxing). A little research revealed the differences in PG and VG, so I have tried to stay with VG juices since noting the PG seemed to be the issue. I've found the Johnson Creek Red Oak series of juice has been what works for me with a more traditional tobacco flavor. I started with their Domestic and as my buds have changed I find their Tennessee Cured juice to be more satisfying. But as billbeckusa noted; I've got the bug and I'm constantly in search of new flavors now(and mods).
