hi All! Noob here, obviously, in fact I just started vaping like, a week ago maybe? My boyfriend bought me the ego twist C battery 650 mAh so its small, which I REALLY like, his spare that I was using at first was huge and was akward for me. he just warned me when i got the small one that its charge wouldnt last as long. attached to it Ive got an iclear 16 clearo but Ive got a glass vision V fate nova coming in the mail so I dont have to worry about ejuice flavors hurting my clearo.

so I think Ill probably end up being just a simple vaper...probably not going to get into DIY ejuice or buling my own tanks ( theyre called tanks, right? lol)

so anyway heres my Q,

I dont seem to be getting alot of vape...and the higher i turn up the battery (ive got it somehwere around 4 right now) the warmer and warmer my ecig gets....so what can i do diffrently to get more "smoke" without overheating my ecig? or do i truly need to get a bigger stronger battery? or is it my ejuice? .... (and I cant stand a super strong TH so that just wont do either....)

Could be the ejuice. What are you using? Nic content, pg/vg ratio? If you turn it up too high, you will get a burnt taste. Make sure that the connections don't have any juice on them. Take a paper towel and gently remove if any is there. both on the battery and the clearomizer. Then take the paper towel and hold at the end of the clearomizer and gently blow thru. If any juice is in there you will hear it and it will land on the paper towel.

Hello and welcome!

Give us a little more detailed information if you can. What is the resistance of your atomizer (this would the the ohms listed on the head or box that the atomizer/head came in). What liquid are you using (brand), and if you can find out, what is the pg/vg ratio of the liquid? How is the taste of the vapor? You say there is not much vapor, but how is the flavor?

A higher amount of VG (vegetable glycerin) will both make more vapor and reduce throat hit, so finding a liquid with higher vg might be your solution.

I believe that the iclear 16 heads come in 1.5 ohm and 2.0 ohm. I don't know if that would effect your vapor, but it will influence what voltage you want to have your twist set at.

ok< followed your directions (and thanks!!!) and there was no juice. Using an 18mg nic cont and 50/50 ratio....Def havent had any burnt tastes and im very good about refilling before its completely empty, so hopefully that will avoid any buring? ( but again WTH do i know? lol!)

Most commercial juices have sweetener added anyway, so unless you are adamant about avoiding artificial sweeteners, presence of pg vs. vg isn't going to have that much effect on the sweetness.

Otoh, 50:50 should be producing decent vapor. That's what I use and I get nice big clouds.

PG carries the flavor of your juice better. VG is naturally a bit sweetish, but also can mute down the flavor of your juice. The upside is that it has less TH, and makes a bit more vapor. Some people get a reaction to VG...sinus trouble and a sort of tightness in their throat and chest. But since you are vaping 50/50 already...I doubt you'd have that issue.

as far as which icear i have, it doesnt specify, but it was bought from myvaporstore.com if that helps....and the Iclear came in bubble wrap so nothing was listed. The brand of juice being used also came from vaporstore.com and my boyfriend seems to get a pretty good amount of vapor, more than I do, which is why i thought maybe it was the battery? the flavor Im using is also the same as his, blue rasp, and cherry before that, both high caliber 18mg 50/50 and taste sweet and yummy just like i would think they should.

yes we are in cincy! we knew there was a store in eastgate but we are clear across 275 on the other side of the city so we may not make it over there soon. but VERY good to know they are so friendly and helpful!! is it free to test out their juice?

Also on the subject of a higher VG juice, My boyfriend, also a new vaper ( but has friends at work who are more seasoned) SWEARS ( but i dont buy it) that he read somewhere on myvaporstore that these iclears HAVE to be used with a 50/50 juice?! i mean, wwhat?! yeah, no.

he also swears that the juices on myvaporstore are ALL gaurenteed to be safe for plastic clearos. I dont really buy that either. (all they sell is a 50/50 mix. if i want a higher VG i hafta go elsewhere).

Spaz, Exactly! my boyfriend can blow out a huge cloud.....sooooooo, unless its that hes got a bigger battery i dunno what could it be, but at the same time ive never heard of battery size causing vapor issues...so perplexed.

In general terms, pg usually provides more flavor and more throat hit, higher vg will provide more vapor and may mute the flavor a bit. Too much vg in liquid in the top coiled clearos with all those wicks may give you a bit of wicking problems and some dry hits. 50/50 should be good, but if you want you can try a 40pg/60vg or go 30/70. I don't think I would do 100%vg in the 1clears. I don't use them. Let's see what someone who does use them says. You could also do a search on the iclears and see what others have said about their experience with them. The resistance on the head and the volts set on your spinner will make a difference too. I have heard repeatedly that you need to tilt and twirl the device to make sure the wicks stay saturated so you do not get dry hits.

sounds like your coil is dying, I would pick one up from your local vape shop, or just wait for the one you ordered.

What battery is your boyfriend using? Can you switch toppers. You test your iclear on his battery, and test his topper on your battery. Objective here is to see if it's the topper or the battery. Try to have the batteries set at same voltage if possible. I'm leaning towards some sort of problem with your iclear rather than the juice now.

Things I know that cause lack of vapor... Juice on the contacts, wicks being wet with water, wicks not getting enough juice (also will probably have burned taste), voltage set too low for the coil...

well nevermind nope i dont have another clearo the otherone is def broken the threads are messed up where u screw the "cap" on so its broken too. super booo. i guess im just stuck with this one till i can either make it out to the store or the glass one comes in the mail.

Don't the iclears have replacable heads? Can you unscrew the head out of the broken one and put it into the one you are currently using, or is it the head that's broken?
