decided to join to get more info about ecigs and ejuices. ive been a smoker for 15yrs now. hoping to be analog-free. :D im currently vaping with a ce4 for a week now. while it works... im already wanting more! so ive been reading around here for a couple of days now. really overwhelming. hopefully i'll get some sound advice and not spend too much trying to get my 'right' (hardware) vaping experience. :)

btw im looking forward in posting at the provari subforum. i got some questions. need to get few more obligatory posts in here though. :p

oh nice thanks baditude. ive been reading your posts!!! really helpful! im so glad you replied to me. just the person i need! :D

anyway i was going to post this one at the provari sub but here goes it..

week old vaper. got some q's

ive been vaping with a ce4 i bought online to get me started. i joined here basically to get more information about ecigs and ejuices. i think im ready to jump into APV. the Provari is the one im looking at. it seems like almost everyone love it and i dont wanna keep beating around the bushes so i think ill just jump straight to a Provari.

with that, i have some questions...
-- where to buy a provari (ie cheaper, promo, codes)? is it only available at provape.com?
-- what setup is best for a noobie that doesn't like fiddling with things? i read something about drilling holes, coiling, rebuilding, attaching wicks, etc etc. i dont really wanna have to deal with any of those. basically all i wanna do is... make sure it's charged to last all day as well as the juice.
-- having said that, i think im going with a cartotank. im looking at the ones made by ibtanked (but if there's one better suited for me, let me know). which one should i get - 19mm stan/XL, 25mm stan/XL. one that would hold 2.5ml at the least.
-- i still dont get how the cartomizers work with the tanks. :/ so please recommend one also. ive read something about smoketek, ikenvape etc.. but im still not sure which one to get. so again, need your help.
-- hmmm i know i'll stick with cartotanks (it just holds more juice and looks awesome) but for trying out ejuices, any suggestion for what cartomizers i should get? clearomizers that would serve this purpose would be nice too but again, im not sure which one is suited for a provari.

replies with (buy) links would be awesome for a noobie. so please.. :D thanks!

thanks in advance everyone. im sure i'll have more questions so pls bear with me.

Hi Mundane!!! I just joined this forum as well. I know exactly what you are talking about with not wanting to break the bank to find the right Vape. I started vaping 2 months ago and have already tried many items. This is what I have found from my own trial and error:

I started with Vivi Nova 3.5ml tanks and an 1100ma none adjustable battery. Tanks leaked like crazy after a few weeks. Threw them out.

Got Vision Spinner 1300ma battery and Kanger tanks. My wife and I went through a 5 pack of new coils and kept having burnt taste with these tanks in the first week. Sometimes, after I filled them, they just wouldn't work at all.

Tanks: Currently I'm using 2 tanks. 2.5 ml Mini Vivi Nova ( haven't had these leak and I haven't changed an element yet after a month ) and an Innokin iclear 30 tank for my regular vape. Both make a decent amount of vapor. The Vivi Nova have a hard time with thicker or dark fluids so I avoid those flavors. The iclear30's are great!

Batteries: Variable Voltage is important. You can adjust for different fluids and vapor production. The ma rating makes a difference in vapor production. I'm still using the Vision Spinners with the Mini Vivi Nova tanks. I have 3 of these. Nice to have a flavor selection. My staple Vape is an Iclear 30 with a Vamo battery. I have a 2000ma rechargable in it. I love it!!!

My wife is using the Innokin Itaste VV battery and Mini Vivi Nova tanks. She likes the smaller feel of these.

Hope this helps!!!

Cheapest and best place to buy a Provari is directly from Provape. Option to purchase a Mini or the Regular size. They have the exact same electronics, so your choice will depend upon battery time vs portability. ProVape E-Cigarettes: Buy Electronic Cigarettes & Smokeless Cigs

blue-chrome-ext.jpgMini Provari 2.jpg
Regular Provari with extension cap and Mini Provari.

You'll also be given a choice to purchase an additional 1 year warranty, in addition to the 1 yr warranty that comes with the purchase (choice is up to you). Options for color bodies and a blue LED display are additional money. You can generally purchase a full warrantied Provari that is slightly blemished for a reduced cost in the clearance section. Clearance

I recommend getting only the Provari, battery extension cap (if you want it), the extended warranty (if you want it), and some Noaloxx Noalox Thread Lubricant

Get the proper sized AW brand IMR batteries (the all red ones) Genuine AW Batteries at RTD Vapor and charger Battery Chargers : Xtar WP2 II from a vendor like RTD Vapor. Plastic battery cases are a safe way to carry spare batteries in a pocket Battery Cases. Also have a large selection of drip tips on this site.

Don't buy your cartos, tanks, or anything else at Provape.

What you seem to be describing are RBA's, or rebuildable atomizers. Don't worry, those are for advanced vapors.

String wicked delivery devices such as clearomizers and vivi nova tanks are easy for beginners because of easy fill techniques, but require frequent "tipping" to keep the wicks wet (annoying to me) and I find that they can be inconsistant and mute flavors. I prefer cartotanks for better flavor, more consistancy, and not being position dependent; however, they take a little more setup time and they have a slight learning curve.

Excellent choice. They are my favorite delivery device. IBTanked is also an excellent choice, I have 7 of those tanks, and I've written a full review on them in the blog I linked to below.

For the Provari I recommend getting the 19ml diameter, XL length tank. More instructions in the blog below.

-- i still dont get how the cartomizers work with the tanks. :/ so please recommend one also. ive read something about smoketek, ikenvape etc.. but im still not sure which one to get. so again, need your help.
This is all explained in my blog below. If you have further questions you can always just ask me.

I use the punched! Platinum and 510 Fusions from Ikenvape, but as you've already learned they can be difficult to purchase. My backup cartos I get from Smoktek Single Coil XL Tank replacement 510 cartomizer for 3.5 and 6ml SmokTank XL - w/flange and 1, 2 or 3 holes. (3.0 ohm single coil with both one and two holes, for different juices.).

-- hmmm i know i'll stick with cartotanks (it just holds more juice and looks awesome) but for trying out ejuices, any suggestion for what cartomizers i should get? clearomizers that would serve this purpose would be nice too but again, im not sure which one is suited for a provari.

I recommend finding some Nano clearomizers for juice tasting. Only hold 1 ml of juice, but they are easily filled or emptied by removing the mouthpiece, are re-usable, and relatively inexpensive. AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Search results for: 'nano'

Baditude, you always have good info. +1 on the single coil carto tanks. Once you get the hang of flood prevention, they are great for flavor and vape production. For the "easy to fill" clearomizers, I use the Kanger T-2's although I am leaning toward trying the Protank.

protank does seem like a winner for the clearomizer category.
also the vamo is very popular if you dont have the money to drop on a provari just yet. $35-$45 bucks for variable wattage or voltage, it can use two 18350s, one 18650, or one 18350
benefits of the provari, high quality, looks nicer and has smooth power regulation

THANK YOU SO MUCH Baditude!!!! your comprehensive replies (tuts) are REALLY helping me out big time in figuring out things i need to know about vaping. provari for that matter! i was just gonna wing it with the starter kit, get some juice and go from there (trial and error) but your reply with links, explanations, etc is so much better as they are at least tested and proven by some, if not all, provari users. that right there is saving me some money in the long run. again, thank you! now onto some e-shopping! :D

get the best and pass up the rest.
kanger protanks are good. i bought 2 more today. airy draw, but i fixed that.
pyrex tank, burns cool. easy to fill, no leaks yet.
i haven't been able to beat a carto/tank for taste yet though.

Regarding taste I have mainly been using carto/tank but have recently got into RBA's. I have heard that fruity flavors don't taste as good in RBA's is this true?

i think i might be set... correct me if im wrong or missing something.

1 ProVari™ Variable Voltage V2.5 with Digital Display - New Design + 1 18650 Extension Cap (provape)
2 AW IMR 18650 3.7v 2000mAh + case + Xtar WP2 II charger + ss ming drip tip (rtdvapor)
1 19mm XL Clear Tube + ss caps (ibtanked)
8 Single Coil XL Tank Cartomizer for the SmokTank XL 3.0 ohm (1 hole) (smoktek)
2 Single Coil XL Tank Cartomizer for the SmokTank XL 3.0 ohm (2 hole) (smoktek)

**got the 510 Stainless Steel Ming drip tip by Cherry Vape as i know i need one but didnt have time to browse around here for the 'best' drip tip (for provari). i figured it's SS so it should match my Satin Silver finish Provari
. any suggestions pls? tia!

ibtanked doesn't have the complete tank setup available right now so i just went with 1 tank with ss caps.
hmmm do you guys recommend either one of these for provari??
- Kanger Protank *mentioned above that it has an airy draw???
- Vapeonly 3.5ml BCC MEGA w/ 3 Heads
** just wanna know if it would work with provari. i only have one tank ordered and i'd like to have at least another one or 2.
btw is replacing coil easy?

and oh yeah, i still have to order some juice. i had smoked marlboro lights but for ejuice im liking the fruit flavored ones. ive ordered from ecblend before. any other vendors? i love their dragon's blood and anise in black mixs.

My favorite e-juice vendor has become Dripeez. They specialize in fruit flavors, and use all-natural, all-organic flavorings which I have found to give better flavor and rarely any artificial or chemically taste. I've repeatedly ordered Golden Apple (great alone or with some of their Cinnamon or Rum added), Passion Fruit, Watermelon, Lemon and Lime mixed, Vanilla, and Coffee. I didn't care for the Mango or Peach, but taste is subjective. I've ordered a 50/50 pg/vg ratio. She has recommendations of adding flavor boosts depending upon the nic strength you need. Natural & Organic E-liquids - Dripeez E-Liquid Dripeez

I also order coffee flavors from Virgin Vapors Organically Flavored E-liquid | Virgin Vapor | Electronic Cigarette Organic e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes and Vaperite Organic Flavored Juices . VV's Kona Velvet Milkshake is one of my all-time favs, and I also use their Red Hot Cinnamon and Root Beer Float. I also regularly vape Kona Cream and Double Espresso from Vaperite.

I don't have the Kanger products. I know the Kanger T3 requires a 510-ego adaptor to work on a Provari, not sure about the other products so maybe someone who has them can help you out there. There's a caution on the Provape website from a customer who said the Provape ego adaptor didn't work for his T3, but one from another vendor did.

Otherwise you look good to go. Maybe one more battery (or two) in 18350 size to use the Provari in its shortest/default length. I change between both sizes for variety and the situation that I may be vaping.

i got most of my stuff today! yey!

been vaping my provari with a kanger protank. liking it so far. (erase that, LOVING IT!! while i jumped from a ce4 to a provari right away, i can tell with my noobie experience that the provari is a much better vape! no burnt or mute flavor - ive had this with my ce4 after just a couple of refills. the one button setup isn't too hard to manipulate (settings). im already used to it.

thank you for recommending the nano clearomizers. been testing my juice with them. *still need to learn how to clean them though (for reuse on different flavor). i'll do some googling. =p

I'm still a bit wary about setting up my ibtanks + cartos so I'll do that on my day offs. =)

once again, thank you baditude & ecf!!!!
