Hi,

I know by now that low ohm or high volt (either one) heats up the coil more and therefore generally leads to more vapor, hit, and so on (or, if it gets too hot, to a burnt taste). The ECF is full of threads like this.

What I couldn't find, though, amidst the above-mentioned threads, is a comparison of "low-ohm-low-volt" versus "high-ohm-high-volt". Shouldn't this give exactly the same result, or is there some other parameter besides a hotter coil? (sorry if this question is too simple, I've never used any high volt battery but I'm considering Lavatube...)

Or in other words: Why do a lot of veterans like to use 6 Volt batteries, when they could get the same vapor/taste from a normal eGo or a cheap 4.2Volt 18650 battery, as long as the ohm are low enough...? Is there a difference?

best,
Elo

TLDR: I'm not looking for "low ohm makes more vapor" :) only interested in multi-attribute comparison

There are plenty of people that will tell you watts (really the energy disapated at the coil) are all that matters which is really what your question amounts to. I can't dispute the assertion in theory. In practice, it does make a difference. If you try it, you'll see.

Going with watts is close but, it's not quite the same.

Anything you do will change the vaping experence, and just like different ohm/volt setups give different result so do different types of devices. So there isn't really a set rule for what you are asking.
I use a VW device quite a bit, and for a fact a 2ohm carto at 8 watts does not tase like a 3ohm carto at 8 watts. That in no way means one is better or worse than the other, they are just different.

eGo with a LR carto or atty VS a 5v regulated or VV device are very different experiences in my experience.

However a regulated 3.7 box mod is close but no cigar. The volt just doesn't have quite the "oomph" of higher voltage but it is better than your standard eGo. However even using some 3.7 batteries such as 14500s if they are being used in a VV device the difference is still very obvious when you've used both compared to the eGo types.

Volts is really more about preference. Some people prefer 3.7 or 4.5 or 6.0 and each change in voltage is a different kind of vaping experience.

A hotter coil would seem to be plenty of reason to allow for a significantly different result.
