EDIT: Subject of Post wrong. Wanted to write "Low PG or no PG".
I got a sore throat vaping some Liqua 70PG/30VG liquid. I have vaped 70PG/30VG before without getting a sore throat. Also I get have some ache in my calves after vaping.

I am currently mostly on 50/50 stuff from MtBaker which hasn't caused any problems. However, I am thinking of going lower PG.
There are 3 choices
- 20PG/80VG
- Max VG
- 70VG & 30% Distilled Water.

Any suggestions on which I should try without suffering a major loss in flavour. I am planning to get an extra shot of flavouring my order.

I love the Hawk Sauce from Mt Baker but hate the Bananans & nuts - it's very difficult to vape - not as smooth as the Hawk Sauce - any other suggestions from Mt Baker - I am planning to try Thug juice also this time.

I've been trying 20%pg/80%VG as a way to stop throat irritation. I'm also trying 70%VG/30% H2O.I have poor taste, so I add 5 flavor drops. The flavor in both are close to a higher PG mix, but not quite as prevalent in some flavors. Peanut butter comes thru well. Both of the above drastically reduce the throat hit, but the 20/80 mix does give a bit of hit. The H2O blend is so smooth you don't realize you are even taking a vape. What I have experienced is with no throat hit I do not have the "smoking" sensation, and start wanting a cigarette again. I used to smoke 3 packs a day, but have not had a puff for 10 months now. Do not want to falter, so I am going with the 20/80 mix. Just my opinion based on my limited experience. Oh yea, was worried the high VG would gunk up my coils faster but so far not a problem.--Hawk--:2c:

Just a comment. Watch out lowering PG too much. PG is the best flavor carrier so decreasing it means you may have to increase flavoring. That can be a problem inhaling too much of it. PG "sensitivity" is rarer than you might think and just seems more because the "squeaky wheel gets the grease." When there IS a sensitivity, there are more posts about it. You just don't hear from those who don't have any problems with it which are the vast majority. At any rate.. leg cramping is a definite sign of dehydration. I would try 70VG/30DW to help retain some flavor and the DW will help a lot of the sore throat. But, with the symptoms you're having, I'm no doc but have seen and experienced enough to be pretty sure your problem is dehydration.

Edit: I always add a couple of drops of DW right into my clearo with all the juices I have. It helps keep the nose and throat. Also, remember that not everyone vapes the same way. Some don't lung inhale or do it very shallowly. Among the lung inhalers there are just as many folks here reporting lung heaviness and mucous build up from high VG. Actually I think they outnumber the "PG sensitivity" folks. So.. yeh,,, cut VG with DW to decrease the amount of it you use and try not to go below 50% PG.

i would try 20% pg/ 80% vg with extra flavor shots. when i first started vaping i didn`t know what i liked and ordered 80pg/20vg and had sore throat and heaviness in my chest. now i order 20pg/80vg and have no problems. i get 5 flavor shots and it is never too strong. i agree with the plenty of drinking water thing.
