Yeah, that makes sense. Since my vaping journey began, I've tried everything short of the more exotic mods and RBAs. Since then, I've managed to find my perfect setup. I went from being a juice fiend to finally being happy with my basic six: butterscotch, caramel coffee, biscotti, and "dem buns" aka cinnabun (Dem Buns took me completely by surprise, because any of the cinnamon juices I've tried in the past literally destroyed my throat. Dem Buns has more of the icing than the cinnamon, IMO.) The last two are tobacco flavors I use almost exclusively with my Volt.

Every single juice I ever tried tasted different in different delivery systems on different devices. I'm SO GLAD I found my vv/vw and my carto tanks. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm a very, very, VERY satisfied vaper.

I vape my MBV butterscotch at 5.5- 6 watts. I don't bother with vv most of the time. Whatever tastes good to you is what's good. I wouldn't bother going through hoops to try vaping at higher volts or watts if you're happy with what you vape now.

i use this setup almost 100% of the time.
ALTcig Arctic Strawberry
Vivi Nova tank with 2.4 ohm coil
Zmax set to about 4-5 watts

i enjoy the cooler vapes too. sometimes i crank it up to about 7watts but seldom.

another thing you may want to look into is some Koolada... its kinda like menthol cool without the mint taste. if im jonsing for some cool ill add a half drop (i mixed my own... 1 part Koolada 2 part straight vg)

grrrr!!!!! I hate having to refer to a damned wattage chart just to figure out what people are saying, especially since those charts are outdated/under powered to begin with.

One more reason in a long list to hate watts for me. I should NOT need a translator to discuss vaping.

4 watts eh. I've never vaped as low as 4 watts. My lowest has been 5, but I do tend to go higher. What I do like is being able to stay at the same watts with different ohms.
I think I know what you mean about the cooler vapes though - when I'm driving home in the heat sometimes I like to go a bit cooler.

Since I just switched to an eVic, I can join in the discussion. After playing around with the settings for all of my juices, I find that I vape at 6.5 watts (about 4 volts on a 2.4 ohm clearo). Any higher, and I get a burnt taste.

I have also found that the speed of drawing the vapor into my mouth is directly related to how high I can go (watts-wise).

Duh ;)

The exception to this is my 80/20 Wintergreen with two extra flavor shots. I like to vape that at 8 watts. :D

I think that people who talk about vaping low resistance coils at higher voltage may not be getting the voltage they think they are. I can't find it now, but Cozzicon tested the eGo Twist at 4.8 volts with a 1.5 ohm ohm carto and found that it only produced 3.x volts under that load and couldn't deliver the dialed in voltage because of amperage limits. Most circuitry either scales back or just flashes and refuses to fire at high amp levels.

3.5v at 1.5 ohms produces 8 watts at 2.3 amps. Much higher and most mods will cut off or scale back the voltage. Those who claim ultra high wattage may be vaping from a car battery. :)

My Provari cuts off at 3.5 amps. Most eGo batts stop at 2.5 amps and the Twist stops at 3a.

I questioned a poster who claimed he was vaping a 1.5 ohm DC at 5v and a 3 ohm at 7.4v. I inquired if he meant watts and not volts, and he said that he stacked batteries in unregulated mechanical mods.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartomizers/376899-cartomizers-higher-voltage.html#post8536946

The first example (1.5 ohms/5v) yields 16.7 watts at 3.3 amps. The second (3 ohm/7.4v) calculates to be 18.25 watts 2.46 amps. Neither vape would be something I'd want to subject my lungs to. I just can't tolerate the harshness of higher voltage vaping. I'm good at less than 8 watts, preferably 5 to 6 watts. I couldn't imagine vaping 16 watts of atomizer heat.
