Lower ohm = more splatter?

I've been staying around 1.5 ohm for a while now but curiosity finally got to me and I'm trying to go a bit lower. The problem I'm having, however, is that it seems that going lower seems to make a much more violent vaporization which comes with some "splatter" for me. When I take bigger hits some of this splatter reaches my mouth. I'm not sure this is normal. I went down to .7 and it was even more. Now I'm at 1.1 and it's ok but if I open up the airflow I get what I think is a bit of juice in my mouth. I've tried on both my trident v2 and my atomic with different drip tips.

This picture is 10 wraps 28g kanthal and measures 1.1 ohm.

I've tried with less cotton and it seems worse. I haven't tried dual coil yet. Should I try more cotton? Should I try dual coil or is this "splatter" just what you guys call flavor and is normal?

Though with a different type of device under different circumstances, I too have been splattered. Mine is a foreshortened KFL (nano kit) with a 1.2 ohm contact microcoil and cotton. Un-tinkered, the thing spat at me like a some sort of vicious dragon-llama. Then I changed out the stock tiny-holed drip tip to one with a larger bore (average amongst DT's I think) and added an extra short flat bit of cotton directly on top of the coil. Since then, she only spits when the upper drip tip well becomes excessively wet.

Lower ohms doesnt necessarily mean more splatter, for all of my builds are usually sub-ohm and I dont have any problems with splatter in any of my 10-15 RBAs.

However ive noticed when re-wicking my coils that if my cotton is "too loose" inside the coil it will splatter a bit. Try getting your cotton a little more snug in the coil without it being "too tight".

Also try just enough cotton to come down and touch the deck. No need to stuff it full of cotton. (imo)
