LR cartomizer O ring

I have soft tip 510 cartos from clouds of vapor and LR 510 cartos from pro vape. The LR cartos have a rubber O ring under the soft tip. What is the purpos of this?. The LR from PV has a copper thread and the regular from COV has a stainless thread. I am using a WetBox at the moment. The LR seems hotter than the regular and does not seem to stay as wet as the regulars. Any info?

LR simply runs hotter so it will go through liquid faster.

The rubber o-ring is an added measure to keep the liquid from getting into your mouth.

Thanks for the reply Dudeman. I have give three pumps on the WetBox to keep from getting the dry carto taste with the LR's.
