I always hated the look of the endcaps on my Lava Tube. Even worse, I hated how the little nubs on the bottom cap would dig into my palm when using the mini LT. Here's what I did to remedy the problem...
1. I filed off the little nubs on the bottom of the end cap
2. Used 220 grit sand paper to even everthing out
3. Used 400 grit to take out sanding scratches
4. Used 600 grit to make it smooth
5. Used 1500 grit to polish it back to lustre
For the top cap I did the same thing, but I filed at an angle to achieve the bevelled (rounded) look. I also taped off the body with electrical tape since I didn't want to remove the top cap or scratch the body. Oddly enough, it ended up looking similiar to the provari top cap design.
It's a very simple project that took under an hour to complete. However, this is a "do at your own risk project".
