As im trying out my new Atlantis clearomizer, off the bat i noticed the HUGE drip tip, and massive airflow this thing has. (i have never smoked an rda/RTA btw). And no matter how hard i try, doing mouth to lung hit is just....nearly impossible o_O. It produces no vapor at all, and because of the huge mouth piece and airflow its so hard. Then i looked up more rda's and popular ones also have such huge mouth pieces to hit and most ppl i see on youtube with an RDA take lung hits.

But when i take a lung hit dear god i can take like a 2 sec drag and start coughing for the next minute.

So the question basically is...clearomizers/RDA with huge airflow are they really meant for direct lung hits? And when people, like me, struggle taking a lung hit does it just take commitment (like vaping the first time, major coughs and it just becomes normal) before it goes normal?

Because atm my Aspire Atlantis looks absolutely useless to me while i looked so forward to using it.

If you've never used anything remotely as open as the Atlantis, then yeah, its going to be really hard to vape with. Mostly because its producing way more vapor than your used to and you're getting hit with way more nicotine than your used to on every draw.

Try lowering the nicotine levels.

Using the lowest i can find of my juices 6m already dropped from 12ml

My first lung hit was like a punch in the face.

Now, 5-6 second lung hits are my norm. I can barely even do a mouth to lung. So yes, you will get used to it.

Good to know, cuz i do actually like the feeling of a lung hit more. But the cough is whats holding me back. (and the lung feeling, like you just woke up and its all sensitive)

But do you still smoke as much with full lung hits? Like do you vape for a long period of time (20+ drags) all lung hits? o_O

Yeah im just taking taking 2-3 sec hits atm (although no vapor really comes during the first sec) and at 3 its just a huge blow that hits my throat/lung. Im just gonna keep it up to the acceptable point for me and see where it goes.

I was just wondering if lung hits was equally safe, and achievable by everyone after getting used to it.

Vape as you like - that's one of the coolest things about the scene.

Direct lung hits might never be your thing, but good for you for trying. Ease into it, as others have advised, and as you've heard, it's perfectly normal to feel the DL vape is much more intense. The Atlantis has afc, so use it. Try it set low and adjust it as you like. Also, try some lower nic juice - many folks who started on 18 or 24 mg are down to 3 through DL vaping (and the lower ohm setups like the Atlantis has).

Short hits. Long hits. Frequent hits. Mouth to lung. Direct lung. It's all good.

I remember my first lung hit well , felt like i was drowning in vapour  I took a hit of a lads rda at my local b&m when all i had been using was ce4's on an ego, with my eyes watering and coughing i thought that would never be for me.

Just make sure you have the juice budget for it before you fall in love with the clouds.:D I remember when 10ml lasted me a week, its more like a couple of hours now.

I always did mouth to lung when I smoked and it was weird moving to lung hits with vaping. I did like the new vape experience though and I'm completely used to it now. I can still go back to setups that require mouth hits.

I set up my rda's so they make almost instant vapor. I find at 30'ish watts, two to three second drags are good for me kinda like with smoking. Mostly I vape zero nic, but when I vape nic it's about 2 mg. When I was vaping nic all the time I liked around 5 mg at 30 watts.

IMO, shorten your drags and then lower your nic level until you're comfortable.

All this nic talk and nothing about flavor. The juice I mouth to lung in my kayfun tastes terrible and chokes me out in my rda. I use a completely different flavor for lung hitting my dripper with no issues. Something to consider.

Just goes to show that we are all different. IMO most of the time it's the nic, but that doesn't mean that works for everyone :)
